I was thinking after I saw mayaandsofiasmommy siggie pic about extended rear facing about when we would turn the boys around so I did some internet goggling (again I get bored while pumping) and after watching a lot of videos and stories I am definitely keeping the boys rear facing for much longer than I did with Danika (15mos) I couldn't wait to turn her around for the convenience but we had to wait until she was 20lbs - now I wish we would have waited longer. Here are some quick vids that convinced me......

We're shooting for at least 18 months. And we'll reevaluate after that, but I'm thinking more along the lines of 2 years.

Here's the link to the Car Seat Safety board showing kids all the way up to the age of 4 in Extended Rear Facing.

Totally off-topic here, but how do you search Google when you are pumping?? I'd love to know your trick, because my pump requires the use of both hands -- I was just telling DH that someone should invent a hands-free pump!

I never had the hands free pumping bra, but I emailed/googled/surfed JM all the time when I was pumping. I just situated myself so that the laptop was in my lap and the bottles were rested on my knees/thighs. Or once the suction was good (i.e. not the let down stage of the pumping), I simply held the top of the breast shield with my left hand...thumb on the left shield and a couple fingers on the right shield. Couldn't type as fast because I had to punch at the keys with one hand, but saved me some money from having to buy the bra!!

Wish we had a car big enough to allow us to continue rear facing.

The hands free bra rocks!
