I've been having a feeling that I'm having twins (got an early BFP and hpts got darker pretty fast, including same-day testing, and had early symptoms), but I can't ask about it until my 7 weeks u/s this Tuesday. My hCG at just 22DPO (5w4d) was 8,722, which seems to be kind of high, compared to other ladies'. Two days later, it was 16,011, and then two days after that, it was 28,900-something. So, while they seem to just be doubling every 35-48 hours, could that still indicate twins? Or do hCG levels HAVE to triple and quadruple with multiples?

Also, I've had two Emergency Department u/s in the past week, and they didn't notice twins, but they weren't looking for them yet, either. They saw one gestational sac, with one yolk sac in it (and tiny beginnings of baby). But I'm still not convinced.

I don't know why I can't shake this feeling. Maybe it's because I was a twin (twin was a stillborn), or because I've had symptoms since day 1, and now at 6 weeks I'm vomiting and having severe nausea all day long, or maybe it's because DF seems to think that I'm having twins.

*sigh* Sorry for bothering you ladies with this. I would just like some comparisons. I wouldn't be upset about having twins, but I would definitely be very anxious about it!

TIA!!

I never had HCG drawn so I cant compare those. Looking back, my only clue was a super early HPT - I didn't know what to make of it since I knew what day I conceived and had an IUD the month prior. The fatigue was really bad at first but I just chalked it up to having a 2.5yr and working fulltime. I had no idea it was going to be twins.
Good Luck and KUP!!

Thanks for answering! I got my first super-faint BFP on a $-store test at 7DPO. Then at 8DPO, I got my "real" BFP (very noticeable line) with FMU, and the same day, later that evening, I took another test and it was DARKER than that morning's FMU test. So, that was odd. I used the same brand of test. By 20DPO, I could barely see the control line, because the pregnancy line was so thick and dark.

I've had some vaginal bleeding, which is why I got early u/s and bloodwork, and everything appears to be fine. This Tuesday, though, I'm really hoping to hear a heartbeat! (Or heartbeats, lol)

I'll let you know how it goes.

My only clue was I was peeing non stop very soon after conception (like 4 dpo), I took a test at 7dpo and it was negative. I didn't bother to take a test until two weeks later, because I was still breastfeeding and I already knew I was pregnant (instinct). I just chalked up the excessive peeing to me just being in tune with my body, I knew instantly I was pregnant, just not that it was twins.

I had no inkling at all, and actually was more sick with my singleton than my twin pregnancy. Good luck to you.

I had no clue, I was gaining weight a little faster than I did with my first but really never thought about it being twins. I never had morning sickness (I didn't with my first either) but I was staying tired more!! I had a u/s at 12weeks and they told us it was twins!!!

Good Luck today keep us posted!!!!

I had no clue until my 16 week U/S. Looking back on things, my hcg numbers were higher than what would be considered average. It wasn't enough to make my doctor think it was multiples though. Good luck to you!
