Hey I just got back from my latest appt with the MFM and we found out that Baby A is definitely a boy (we thought he was, but this was a double check) ... and Baby B is a girl! So there you have it, b/g fraternal twins
Just about everything looked good on the u/s, though they did tell us that the girl has a single umbilical artery, which can be a marker for some defects, but can also be nothing, especially when it is not accompanied by anything else. Everything else on the baby looked good, heart, kidneys, etc. So, hopefully it will be nothing and she will be perfectly healthy. He did give us some info on it and they will likely watch the growth closer because of it. Right now they are both growing fine though. One is 1 lb 2 oz and the other is 1 lb 3 oz (I forget which was which). Does anyone have experience with a single umbilical artery? What I have read since I got home says it is more common in multiple pregnancies (about 5% vs 1% of singletons).
They also are watching my bp and gave me a prescription for that (joy ) and they want me to do a baseline 24 urine test, so I get to find some time to do that (nothing like a jug of urine in the fridge at work )
All in all a good appt though
Baby A = Noah Joseph
Baby B = Abigail Grace

Glad they are both growing well ! I hope your blood pressure stays under control. I had to do the 24 urine thing with my last pregnancy but I was admitted while doing it. I think thats the easiest way to do it, so you dont have to transport any urine yourself.
Congrats! I had b/g twins on 11/23 and they're amazing! My dr never mentioned anything to me about the unbilical so I guess neither of my babies had that issue? Hope all continues to stay well for them! So excited for you!
