I haven't seen her in about 8 years. So we were catching up in the middle of Safeway-turns out they're going for a FET in 7 weeks-she's 42 and PRAYING for twins, so she "can be done and get this over with". It was sort of cute, and I had to bite my tongue and just smile and nod--42 and praying that her first pg is twins, crazy, lol! Of course my four weren't with me, and thus were not pulling each others hair and running around the store like wild animals--wonder if she'd like to come babysit one night?

When people make these comments about wishing for twins, do you smile and nod, or do you burst their bubble?

LOL, I get this all of the time! People are always saying "I wish I had twins!" or "I really want twins!" I don't really burst their bubble either If they feel they are prepared to do everything in two's, more power to 'em!

I have a few friends who would love twins and are jealous because I have twins. I just laugh and wonder what are they thinking. Good idea to come over and babysit sometime. They like the idea because it is "cute." I will have to say that I'm glad I had Leah before my twins for the experience. I couldn't have imagined learning everything in the beginning with 2. Keeping the kids on a schedule is my only saving grace.

I'm one of the ones that wished for twins as well. I struggled with infertility for 4 years and prayed everyday for a baby, two babies, whatever I would be blessed with. So I was one of the crazy ones wishing for twins, but I think it's because I was so heartbroken, I knew I'd probably get twins due to IVF, but didn't know I'd get 3 for the price of 1

I just nod and smile.. and inside I'm rolling my eyes.

My older sister has been battleing infertility problems of 6 or more years (they have since decided to adopt) She's seen me with my twins and my younger sister with hers.... She's definitely NOT praying for twins. :-) She seen how it was for us and didnt' think she could handle it :-)

I have to say that I love having twins. The first 9 months were hard, but the last 9 have been amazing. I struggled with infertility as well and when we saw those 2 little heartbeats, neither DH nor I freaked out. We were both so excited from the get go.

I talked to a MoM this past weekend who has 3 year old boys. She asked how things were going at 18 months and I told her great. She said how bad she had it since her boys were climbers. My kids climb everything. I think it's funny. Yes, they fall, but that's part of being a kid. I was really turned off by her because all she had to say was how awful it was and how she could never get anything done. I feel bad for her kids.

Anyway, when people tell em they want or always wanted twins, I completely understand why because it is amazing. I someitmes tell them how much work it is, but also tell them how rewarding it is.

The only reason I kind of am put off by people who wish they had twins is just because the pregnancy is so much risker...problems can come up that could effect the mother's life and/or the babies. The risk of PTL and NICU time is so much greater with multiples.

I actually am not worried one bit about after babies get here...but I worry a lot about getting the babies home happy and healthy.
