Hi
I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself. I'm jolene and a parent of 5.
We have a 15 year old son, 12 year old son, 2 year old daughter and our new additions twin boys. Our twins were born Dec 26, 2010 @ 26 weeks. they are still both in the NICU and its been 109 days.
Hoping to get some idea on how it will be raising twins.

I forgot to add the twins birth weights, both weighed 2.2 lbs. Their names are Azonté and Javarii.

With Azonte, after all that his little body has been through, we just found out last week he had ROP Stage 3 and instead of having the laser surgery, we decided to have the "new" injection procedure done, which is improving his eyes so fast, hes now at stage 2. we are still working on feeds, as he get so tired and can not finish a bottle.

Javarii on the other hand has been the sicker one of the two. He has had some major set backs from day one, first with NEC,Pulminary hypertension, lung disease/colapsed lungs, and a blood infection all at the same time. After his PDA surgery, hes a new baby. He is still having alot of de-sats and brady's and requiring him to be on oxygen +30, but hopefully after his swallow study tomorrow, they can see if feeding has something to do with it. He is not currently bottling but has in the past.
I feel as though with a little bit of work, Azonte will be home soon, but I pray Javarii will be right behind him.

Hi and welcome! How are your twins doing? How are you doing with them being in the NICU so long?

We are glad to have you here! There seem to be a lot of new ladies here lately with young twins, so I think we will all have plenty of support and people to ask questions of.
