I've always had the Big u/s done at about 19-20 weeks. With twins does it matter when it is done? Meaning is it OK to wait until 20 weeks or is it better to have it done earlier? We're not finding out the genders so that doesn't matter to me but I do wonder when most twin-mamas get their big u/s done.

Well, I got/get level II ultrasounds which is the same thing as the big ultrasound you are referring to about every 2 to 4 weeks starting at 16 weeks with my MFM doctor. So it was a lot different then my singletons...I have lost count already how many Ultrasounds I have gotten. Are you only getting one level II ultrasound?

With my daughter our big scan was at 16 weeks something and we were able to find everything else we needed anatomy wise. With our son we waited till 20 weeks and ended up having to come back but only because he was a stubburn little man.

Mine was a level II at 19w3d (exact same as my singleton). I have had so many u/s's since then. I get them every 2 weeks (I have a short cervix, and to see if the babies are sharing their living area equally)

I had two done at the MFM ... one at 18 weeks and one at 22 weeks .... then, since everything was looking good, my regular OB stopped sending me to the MFM.

my OB sent me to the MFM specialist early because I had some issues at the end of my last pregnancy and because of the twins. I went at 13 weeks and today and will be going every 2 weeks for a while.. the tech asked today if we wanted to know the gender and I said "yes!" haha so that's the only way I found out today.

With my singleton before I only had the one u/s at 20 weeks with my OB until I had issues and had to see the MFM guy every week for the last month (until I delivered via c-section at 36w 5d)
So it just seems to depend on your doctor or specialist or whatever.

I had 3 anatomy ultrasounds, the first being at 17 weeks. I can't remember for sure when the other 2 were. I think around 21 and 28 weeks. I had u/s almost every week after the first trimester, so it's hard to remember what I had when.

I always saw the peri once a month. I say my OB one a month until I was about 24 weeks I think. It all worked worked out to have an ultrasound at least every two weeks. I found out the sexes at 15.5 weeks.

I'm assuming I get just one as nothing has been said otherwise. My OB hasn't recommended I see a MFM however she said she can give me a referral if I want. The nearest MFM is 1.5 hours away so I'm hoping to not have to use one.

I know it is hard to see things with an u/s with twins because of shadows and postion of babies. I saw my OB and peri for an u/s every 4 weeks until the end and then it was every 2 weeks and the last 4 weeks I had a NST and BPP done every week. I did CVS at 9 weeks so I knew the sex from that. Don't know if my peri ever went back over the anatomy. I'm sure he did, but then we already knew for sure.

I will be going to MFM at 21 weeks for the anatomy scan. I currently go every 4 weeks. Sometimes instead of going to MFM for cervical checks, I'll just stay at the OB b/c they have the right machines and technicians. My old OB office used to send me to MFM for EVERY scan b/c they didn't have the newer tech and the right technicians to do the detailed scans.

I had my first one done at 16 weeks. I had one every month from that point on.
