I just realized I never came in here to announce the girls birth! I put it all on facebook and forgot about this part :-/ I'm terrible haha so 2 weeks later here is the full story..

Most of you know about my very eventful pregnancy. I had doc appts with tons of specialists every week for most of the 8.5 months.. even 2 MRI's at the Children's Hospital here. We were told baby B (Kenley) had some abnormalities in her brain but no one could tell us what it was or why it happened or what was GOING to happen. about a month ago or so we were then told that baby A (Keely) was also showing signs of the swelling and abnormalities that Kenley had but it started later, her MRI's were always normal... why was this happening?..

on top of that they weren't growing. they were always way behind at their growth scans. The MFM and my OB decided it was best for them to come out.. something wasn't agreeing with them being inside me.. so we decided to deliver at 34 weeks. I had a c/s with my son so there was no question i would have another, especially since we didn't know what was going on with their brain...

So I had them on sept 21st. Keely was born at 1:02pm and Kenley was at 1:04pm. Keely was screaming right away! it was amazing. She even scored 9s on her apgars! She weighed in at 3lbs 6oz.. way behind what she should be at 34 weeks.. Kenley came out crying but needed a little stimulation. she scored 7/8 on her apgars! she weighed in at 3lbs 2oz.. She needed a little help remembering to breath so she was on room air for a few days.

basically right now they are in just to grow. Kenley isn't doing well with her feeds yet so we are still working on getting her to suck swallow breath and grow! Keely is doing pretty well with her feeds now but they are just over their birth weight. we still need them to get to 4lbs before they can go home as well as be out of their isolets.. their temps are good though so they could be out of those any time now.

they did head u/s on them last week and found nothing new.. and have no new answers. they noticed that their brains look really similar now so that means whatever happened happened to Keely also even though she was also normal.. we have to go back to see the neurologist from children's about a month after the girls are discharged.. hopefully we have more answers because we have no idea what we are dealing with or how this will affect them later on..

so here are some pics :-)

the girls together finally..

Keely with her eyes open

Me kangarooing Keely then Kenley- we were still in the hospital at this point..

Thanks for looking! :-)

They are gorgeous! Thank you for posting, and for sharing all the pictures!

Will keep you all in prayer, that the babies grow well and fast and right past whatever was seen and that it won't end up anything at all.

Congrats on the birth of twins!! Welcome, Kenley and Keely!

Awww congrats. They are beautiful. I hope they can come out of their isolets soon. I hated seeing Ty in his. But finally the nurse told me to dress him really warm and that would help. He came out the next day. Hope you get to take them home soon.
