Hi ladies,

Just curious if any of you charted before getting your BFP. Some of us in the TTC forum have been trying to determine my O date based on temps and OPK's- The possibility of releasing 2 eggs on 2 separate days came up. Have any of you Moms of multiples experienced something similar when temping? Thanks

My Chart:

I'm a charting nerd. The way I read this, you Od on CD16. It's normal to have a dip 3 or 4DPO because your LH is pretty much out of your system and that's what really spikes your temp. Your progesterone hasn't kicked in fully yet, so you get this limbo temp. Your progesterone kicks in right around that time, so you see your temp rise again. Of course I could be wrong, but that's what it really looks like to me.

No experience with charting here, just watched a calendar for a few months, but on the topic of dropping 2 eggs on 2 days... this had crossed my mind as a possibility with our twins. Then in the hospital my hubby asked me about it, because it crossed his mind also. Then at one of the babies' checkups their doctor mentioned that sometimes it happens that way. It seemed that he was implying, though he never really said it, what we had been thinking independently - that Lynndi just seems "younger" than Caleb.

My twins were born at 37w 2d. That's great for twins! Caleb was 6lb 3oz. Lynndi was only 4lb 10oz, and had trouble breathing at first, and then had trouble keeping her temp up so that they kept us an extra 2 days in the hospital. To this day, Caleb is doing things on the early-to-normal end of the "average/normal" span, and Lynndi is doing them almost at the very tail of it.

I don't know how common it is at all, but we think it might be the case for our twins. I was coming off an IUD (followed by a couple of months of pills), so there's no telling what crazy things my body was doing. I'm not even sure if it would show up on charting necessarily with things all out of whack like that anyway.

^^^How far apart were they measuring at the beginning of pregnancy? That would really be your best indication. The chances of them being conceived at different times is extremely low, but still possible. A day or two apart would be a little more likely, but a couple weeks apart would be pretty uncommon.

Thank you very much for the responses ladies, I really appreciate it. FF has given my cross hairs for CD 17 today (very odd, I expected CD16 or CD19). I also had another temp dip and lots of stringy, pale yellow EWCM today so something is up with my cycle. I suppose only time will tell. Thanks again!

First time they said, it was 10 days, but after that it was more like 6 days. And after a while I would ask and they said they just kept up from the baby's own stats instead of going by a weekly comparison chart and told me that they were growing "at a good/acceptable rate". I don't remember when they quit saying, though? If it was halfway or third trimester or what. I know it was only the first 3 or 4 times that they even gave that info.

But yeah, she was always a lot smaller than he was and always harder to track, etc. In fact, the specialist only gave the ok to the OB to go ahead with the c/s at 37 weeks because we always had a hard time tracking Lynndi. Otherwise with no indications he really tries to wait until 38 weeks. He was an awesome doc. I wish he could have been my OB.
