When you do gifts for the multiples...

Do you get identical items, the same items but in different colors, or do you just get them each their own stuff? Do you do a mixture of those?

Which gifts have you gotten in those ways, (this year for Christmas, or past years for holidays or birthdays, or whatever you can think of), and did the way you did it work out ok or do you wish you'd done it differently?

It just depends on what we are buying. We've bought a lot of identical things so far, like tricycles. We've bought a lot of things different like one red/blue and one pink litlte tykes car, but that was partly because one was on super clearance at Target and the other was cheap on craigslist. We have lots of stuff they have to share, so we give each of them one.

For Christmas, they are getting matching stuff. High chairs for their babies, felt and wood food stuff for their kitchen and stuff like that. They are also getting an art easel to share. It has 2 sides, so we figured they didn't need two.

Cool!

My twins are getting ride-ons... and I kind of thought we'd get two of the same or similar, in different colors, but I came across a great deal on the local county's FB page so I did that! One is a pink horse with wheels, and the other is a stationary zebra that bounces or something - like those things at the park on big springs that you just rock/bounce on. The funny thing is, I have a feeling that Caleb will prefer the horse (because it moves) and Lynndi will prefer the zebra (because it DOESNT move)... so the colors are backwards!

LOL Oh well!!

they're nearly three and I still get them the exact same things-they get sad and jealous if they don't have the same colors, even!

interesting...I had been wondering the same thing. I was leaning towards always getting the girls their own toys, and then having them share. (but only one of any toy) i might have to rethink it if they are jealous and don't share very well (like most little kids )
