So, hubby wanted to put the tree, shorter version (without the bottom tier on it), on a desk. Turned out the desk was too tall to fit the tree plus have room for the star on top. Then we realized that even if we found a shorter table or desk to put it on and make it fit under the ceiling, the bottom would still end up being low enough for Caleb to reach it.

So I just had him put up the regular tree. I've been keeping toddlers out of Christmas trees for just about EVER now. Not worried about it.

Are there still decorations on the bottom third of YOUR tree? Share a pic of your tree if you can!

last year we locked the tree in the dining room, but this year the youngest are the twins who are nearly three, and its currently "safe", next year will be locked again as Jojo will be crawling

We aren't worried yet, as the kids aren't crawling yet. With a dog and a cat we are used to making sure the ornaments towards the bottom of the tree are the unbreakable ones though ...

We didn't even get out most of the breakable ones, only the "special" ornaments like keepsakes that go on the top of the tree. (Like the babies' ceramic shoes from last year, for instance.)

But even the "unbreakable" ones won't stay ON the tree. LOL And, at least one of those has gotten broken... DOn't ask me how.

Our tree is up with the lights on (it's pre-lit). We haven't put the ornaments up yet, partly because I'm too tired after work and partly because DS and DD have been such a pain with taking the ornaments off the last few years. We have unbreakable ornaments for the bottom half, but it's still a pain in the rear when they take them off and move them or play with them.
