Honestly, with our financial situation what it is right now I am just thrilled that my dad and stepmom bought us a Christmas tree so we could at least have a tree for their first ever Christmas. I do not want to go to my SIL's house for Christmas (nothing against her, she is super nice as is the entire family, but they are LOUD and my babies do not sleep well in loud environments and it is a four hour trip so overnight stay is mandatory). We are going to my aunt's house for dinner instead. We haven't had the money to do any other traditions I grew up with, so we are going to have a quiet Christmas Eve dinner at home and we recorded "Miracle on 34th Street" on the Tivo to watch that night. Should be fun.

Do you have any special holiday traditions that you're looking forward to this year? We live far from any of our family, so we won't be involved in any Christmas traditions there. We continued one tradition DH and I started when we got married, which was to go cut down our own tree (not as clamorous as it sounds because we just go to the big field where the boy scouts have a U Cut Tree Lot, but still fun to go pik out our own). I want to start the tradition of reading the Christmas story to the kids every year ... maybe Christmas eve? not sure .. we'll see

we are blessed to be able to have a wonderful christmas this year. DHs family all came in from cali and my family lives here. Everyone gets to take part in our babies first christmas. i would like to start the tradition of opening on gift on chrstmas eve and it always being pjs lol
