Hi ladies,

My name is Ang and I am 14 weeks 3 days pregnant with fraternal twins!! Genders unknown at this time. Our twins are a natural occurence and was a complete shock to me and DH lol .. I am still shocked 6 weeks after finding out they were twins after thinking I was having a miscarriage at 9 weeks due to excessive bleeding. Found out at ultrasound that we are expecting TWO babies!!! I almost fell off the bed I was so suprised!

We already have two wonderful sons, Nathan (5 years old) and Jacob (2)... Our family is getting a lot bigger, and I think this will be my last pregnancy and my last children... but I get to go out with a bang with two babies!!

I am so excited, and I cannot wait to find out the genders.. Not sure when that will be but hopefully soon. I am desperately thinking PINK, and I hope that I get a daughter as this is the last chance for it. Hoping for healthy happy babies, but a daughter (or two) would be wonderful.

My instincts say PINK!!!! so I am hoping and wishing everyday.

Welcome! I am also expecting fraternal twins (boy and girl) in March. We are expecting them to come at the end of February, though. After the initial shock and fear wore off for me, I have gotten mostly excited. Nervous for sure but excited finally. We were only planning on 6 so we get a bonus baby.

congrats Ang! welcome to the board! just out of curiosity - why do you think they are fraternals if you don't know the sex? I only ask b/c when I found out I was having twins all the research I saw said if they are in two placentas it could be either ID or Frat. (ours are in the same placenta - so identicals for sure!)

Welcome I remember the shock all too well. DH and I stared at each other for months and would just go "Twins! :O " ... ours are 7 months old and we still do that sometimes.

Ditto what the previous poster said too. I didn't know much about twins until I found out I was expecting them. After that I did all the reading I could on it, and from what I read 25% of identical twins are have separate sacs and separate placentas, so in essence no way to tell if they are fraternal or identical on an u/s. There is a lot of detailed info out there if you are curious, but I found the best simple explanations (without getting into really scientific stuff) was on wikipedia. I know wikipedia is no t a real "source", but it is good info to start you off and they have a great chart to show you also what happens with identical twins depending on what day they separate. Hello! Congrats and welcome!

My twins were also supposed to be our last "one" and ended up with two. LOL So fun! I have three older boys, so I know the "thinking pink" sensation!! Hoping with you!

The ladies are right in that you can't know for sure until you know genders, but you (and probably the doc said) are also right in that it's more likely that they're fraternal. If they're the same gender you may never know though!

I was gonna say this too. mine have separate sacs and placenta's as well BUT I was also told by my doctor that there is a possibility that they could be identical. It just means the egg split really early. The only way to know for sure that their frat is if their B/G. But if they are the same sex then there is a chance they could be identical. but anyway welcome to the board =D always nice to see new people on here =D
