Hi there! I'm Sham (pronounced Shohm)...I'm 27 and found out I'm pregnant with twins a few weeks ago. It was quite a shock, I never expected to be able to conceive twins naturally, but there they were. We are excited and also scared to death. I have a 2 year old from my first marriage who I have custody of and my fiance and I can't imagine suddenly jumping to having 3 kids!

Also, just out of curiosity - how many of you had twins who were measuring about a week apart? They are di/di as far as we can tell and my EDD is Sept. 25th. Did anyone else experience a size difference at this stage?

Hi and congrats! I can well remember what a shock it was to find out there was two Really early on, mine measured fairly close. I can remember them measuring a few days apart. At either 18 or 24 weeks (I can't remember which scan) they were about 6 days apart. And it got less again, and then varied each time. I wouldn't worry too much unless the docs do. Those are just estimates, and unless they see it getting progressively and significantly farther apart, I don't think they will worry much.

Welcome! My name is Melissa, and I am due Oct. 8 with twins as well. It is definitely overwhelming thinking about going from1 to 3 kids, but it will also be a wonderful adventure

I don't have any answers about measuring differently, but I wouldn't stress too much. My DD was always 6-ish days behind, and the twins are always 3-4 days behind as well. Early ultrasounds can also be pretty inaccurate, and once the babies start moving around, it can be harder! If your doc wasn't worried, I'd think everything is okay...one could simply have implanted after the other!

Hi & welcome. I'm new to the multiples board too. Due July 16th (according to me) and July 23 according to my doctors with twin girls. My twins have thus far measured within a day of eachother. So, no advice or insight. I just wanted to to say "welcome" and congrats!!! It's quite a shock (ours were a total surprise, natural)!

My girls (mono/di) always measured similar to each other, but there was concern since they were so long and lean. Thankfully that's just their body type. Their heads always measured behind as well. I'm prego with baby #3 and her head is about a week behind too. I wouldn't be too concerned about a difference right now, especially if they are di/di.

Welcome and congrats! Mine always measured quite differently; it's fuzzy now but I think they started out at like 10 days apart and stayed almost a week's difference. Even now they are quite different in size - my boy is in the 60th percentile and my girl is just in the 4th. LOL

My girls were di/di and they always measured very differently. They were 7lbs 1oz and 5lbs 5oz at birth. The drs had a lot of talk about their measurements and I had a lot of extra u/s but in the end both were perfectly healthy so no real worries.
