Hi im popping in from the May DDC. Im 8.4wks pregnant with fraternal twins. This will be #3 & 4 for us. My first was a preemie and my second was full term. Baby A looks perfect but Baby B is measuring behind and has a low hr. I really have no idea what to expect from here. Any advice would be great. Thank you.
Hi and welcome! How far behind is Baby B measuring? Mine never measured the same, and my Baby B was up to a week behind Baby B at times, but was continuing to grow, just a bit smaller than Baby A (and was born a pound less and to this day tends to weight a pound less). They will definitely keep monitoring it. You can expect more frequent u/s to monitor them in general and even more than that if they do think there are problems.
I also wanted to ask what makes you say they are fraternal? Many u/s techs and even OB's sometimes will say they are fraternal simply because they are di/di (two sacs an two placentas). That is not always the case though. Around 25% OF identical twins are di/di also, soooo ... just wanted to prepare you for the idea that they COULD be identical also.
