I took the boys to the doctor today because they woke up yesterday with bald spots in the middle of their heads! He said they aren't fungal infections and diagnosed it as Alopecia Areata. He said in a majority of cases, the hair grows back within a few months. It can increase their chances of having autoimmune disorders later on though. He was surprised that both got it in the same place, at the same time but said it is one of the mysteries of identical twins.

Yes, I'll take a picture today but probably won't get it uploaded until this evening when the kids are in bed. They are obsessed with the camera and cable and always take it out of my computer. I don't have to do anything for it as of now, just watch it. I talk to someone else on another board who's husband has it. He started losing clumps of hair as a kid and now has no hair at all. Excema is also another sign/symptom. My boys don't have excema (at least not yet) and I hope they don't get it! I have excema (had it much worse as a kid) and it is so uncomfortable! So I'm hoping they just have a really mild case and their hair will grow back without a problem.

Thats interesting, I've never heard of it either. Does it only happen to boys?
