LOL sterotypes...

Didn't you know you have to follow the " you have twins...." rule book that non twin people made?
Like;
Are they really twins if they don't look alike?
You must dress them exactly alike.
They have to like the same things
They must finish eachothers sentences..

I don't mind telling people their birth weight. Makes me feel proud to tell people I big I grew them...

The names is a totally different story though. Because we immigrated from South-Africa and were actually Afrikaans, we gave them Afrikaans names. So I have to repeat the names about 3 times and then people still don't get it...

I got a phone call from my best friend tonight to ask me if I still wanted hand-me-downs because she didn't have any that matched! Her mother convinced her that I would always want to dress the kids exactly alike! No way, maybe for special occasions, but not all the time. I couldn't believe she would think like that.

I can't dress my boys alike anymore unless I am going to be the only one taking care of them. They look too much alike now! I always get, "Are they identical?" or "Are they all yours?" That one is the best! I want to say, "No, only one is mine." And why is it that EVERY single person finds it necessary to ask, "Are they twins?" I thought we would be past this by now, but no. We still get it every time we go out!

You do get less questions as they get older because they do start to look different...my dd is an inch taller and 4lbs heavier so I think everyone assumes she is older than ds. Kinda nice.

I get a lot of people who ask me "Are you SURE they are twins?" And when I say, "well i am pretty sure I had two babies sit on my bladder for 38wks..." then they reply with ...." but they look sooooo different..." I know that is code for, "but one is black and one is white...."

It is so annoying when people ask me if I am sure...like I am setting out to lie about having twins....

If you saw them in person you would see the difference more clearly. Deanna looks white and Danielle looks more black. I am half black and half white so I am sure that is the reason they came out that way.

I have just learned to ignore people. I dont even make eye contact. It has really gotten old.

Yea, funny thing is that they dont get the idea that twins CAN look totally different, hence FRATERNAL twins. Even my girls pediatrician is amazed at their differences...and she is a doctor..! LOL
