Why did Ryan start school at 4 (if you don't mind my asking)?

Well, it's not as if John or I want to carve the pumpkins.

And they only had to scoop out 3 handfuls with their hands, after that they just have to scrape at the inside walls with a spoon so we can get the rest.
He started school at 4 because they offer 4 year old kindergarten in our county. Entrance to it is based on special needs students first, then children who would qualify for free and reduced lunch, then those who fail the kindergarten placement test. If there are any spots left open it's first come first serve to everyone else. It's an all day everyday school, at the actual elementary school, so it's not just preschool. It's basically a slightly more laid back version of kindergarten - actually it's just like what I remember doing and learning IN kindergarten. lol Even if it wasn't for the boys getting free lunch Zach would have qualified based on already knowing 1/2 of the kindergarten test at just turned 4, we put Ryan in because we felt he could use the extra year of getting used to school before going into the way much more structured first grade.
