Nothing really changed since the last time she saw the cardiologist (in the NICU before she was discharged). No better, no worse. I'm upset that the hole hasn't closed on it's own yet but I guess I can be grateful that it's no worse. So she goes back for another check-up when she's a year old - we have an appointment for March 1st unless anything changes. But he said to treat her the same - don't freak out if she's crying or screaming because it wouldn't put any stress on her heart.

All in all, doesn't sound too bad. At least it's not any larger. But I know what you mean about wanting it to close on it's own.

Luke's had not closed on it's own but the pressure was higher on the left side of his heart vs his right. So, it needed repaired.

She is a doll!

Thanks! The picture of her in my siggie cracks me up everytime. How is Luke doing now?

I think the DR's going to see next year if it's going to need to be replaced. I think he said the hole can be closed with medication..? But there's a valve of hers where the flaps had almost fused together instead of being a Y shape. So she might need surgery. She's definitely going to need it further down the road but we just don't know how much further down the road she'll need it. I refuse to even think about now. I'd rather just give myself panic attacks when the time comes.

My DS had 2 holes that closed by the time he was 9mo so it can still happen. As for the valve.. do you know which one?? My DS has PVS and had a repair last year (4yo).

Your DD is a doll.
