Do ya'll mind if I complain for a minute? Its 98 degrees here and I think I am going to die! I have never missed AC so much in my life. This heat is making my DD's eczema flair up. I cant seem to keep her from sweating and the sweat makes the spots worse. Poor thing wish there was something I could do. Any ideas?

I can't help with the sweating, but do you put her to sleep in long sleeves and long pants? If it's cool enough where you are able to do that, slather her arms and legs or wherever the eczema is in vaseline at bedtime. It will take about a week, but it will help it improve a lot, unless there's a food allergy causing it. We keep Maddie's under control with diet (it flares badly with the ingestion of milk proteins), but sometimes the heat is just too much and she has a flare-up anyway and the vaseline helps. Thankfully, it's freezing in our house upstairs so we're able to dress her in a thin layer of long sleeves and pants when we need to.

If you're able to do that and vaseline doesn't help, talk to her ped about a possible food allergy. One thing I (and most everyone I've talked to) didn't realize is that food allergies can take on the form of eczema - this is surprisingly common, but not many people know about it! I hope she can get some relief, sweet girl.

I just got some cupcakes at the commissary that were on "manager's special." Meaning, the discount cart because they are past the date they can sell them at full price. Wow! I bought a package of bricks! Those things were hard as rocks. I couldn't even finish mine. And they used Betty Crocker frosting - I know because it's the same frosting I use on my Christmas cookies. You'd think a bakery would use more of a homemade-type buttercream frosting, not the stuff I can buy in a can! Normally the bakery stuff in our comm. is very good, but this was nasty. I threw the rest away.

We went to my dad's for awhile this afternoon. Aaden kept asking to see "Manny" (Maggie), which is my old dog, that my dad now has, so we went over there. It was complete hell getting him in his car seat when it was time to come home.

I had decided to go back to school to become a dental assistant in 2006 but then I got pregnant with Quintin and shortly after that we moved to Germany. I ahve been dying to go back to school for almost 4 years and Im pretty shure I will go into a assistant training program once we get back stateside. But, I found out today I can take online classes while stationed in Europe for FREE, all I have to do is pay for books. Have any of you ladies ever taken online classes? I have to be all signed up by the 12th if I want to use the tuition assistance. What do you all think about taking online classes are they hard? I dont want to get all involved with something thats over my head and fail. Failing classes means you have to pay back the cost fo the class.

Oh and I leave in a few hours for my trip to Budapest! So excited! now I just have to figure out how to keep myself busy during the 17 hour bus ride

Allison, why is he so against the car seat??

Melissa, I've never taken an online class. Good luck! That's great you can take classes for free. Have fun in Budapest! We're off to Atlanta for the weekend, so I will see you ladies next week!

I have no idea! He usually throws a big fit after he's been running around somewhere, and that's what he was doing at my dad's. And, that's why we don't go to the park very often, because he does that there, too. Usually if my dad puts him in his car seat, he'll sit there and let me buckle him in. For some reason, yesterday was completely different. It's so frustrating.

VERRRY quiet! It's the same way in my PR, too.

We're not doing much this week. Tonight we're having dinner at my dad's, and that's about all we've got planned. Just waiting for the week to be over so we can spend 9 days in a row with DH as he's off work all next week.

That's nice that he has off. I wish DH would take time off of work and we weren't obligated to go anywhere or do anything. The week he had off when we moved down here was sooo nice, even though we were busy getting settled in.

My ILs are annoying me again with their playing favorites. I also think they screwed us over with our anniversary cruise on purpose. At first, I thought it was just an oversight, but after spending time with them this weekend, i think they knew exactly what they were doing.

Its hot here so we are not doing much. I am just mentally preparing myself for my flight next week. I am so excited/stressed.

Melissa~I have taken online courses and I like them pretty good. Where are you taking them at? I am doing an online course right now for medical transcription.

Hello Ladies! Long time no chat! Im back from my wonderful trip to Budapest. I had such a great time seeing all the sights and shopping and the bonuses of my trip were sleeping in a bed all by myself and being in a room with AC! Im going to make a new thread about my trip and include some pics.

Everyone still with us? Summertime is just so busy, I wonder when things will pick up in here again?

I'm here off and on. This thread can go days without having any new posts. I think we'll probably start picking up again once it starts getting colder outside, atleast that's usually the way it works with my PR.

I miss Erika, too! It's so sad that we're on the 12th day of the month, and this thread only has 17 posts.

O.M.G...my child is on my last nerve today. Nothing I do is right, and he's so whiny. I thought having DH here would make him less-whiny, but nope, I was wrong.

Must be something in the air...Maddie was whiny all day, too. I'm so glad she and DH left to go to the park.
