I want to start packing stuff for the hospital awhile. What does everyone suggest? Of course I know some stuff but sometimes other people have good ideas you haven't thought of....? (I plan on breastfeeding too)

For me? Socks and chapstick. Something good to read.

Use the Always Infinity pads. They're amazing. Even the overnights are SUPER thin, and the only time I leaked was when I moved funny and the pad shifted and I gushed at the same time. They're way more comfortable than the hospital ones.

For the baby I've always taken my own little package of sensitive wipes, which I'm glad for because the hospital gave me the scented kind, which always give me a headache as well as not being happy for my babies' bums.

And I firmly believe that the Lansinoh nursing pads are the best. They have adhesive on two edges instead of just one so they stay in place better.

I agree with socks and chapstick....I always ended up bringing more than what I ever used...I also bring all my own soaps, shampoo's etc (I don't like what they have)...You can also find out if they have DVD players in the rooms and bring movies too.

I am sorta struggling with this too. Last time around, I didn't have anything with me except the keys to my car and the clothes on my back and strangely enough, I guess I did okay. This time around, I intend to be prepared.

I am bringing nursing pads (agree that Lansinoh are the best), some sanitary pads (Kotex overnights; used 'em last time and they rocked!), socks, lip balm, toiletries (shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant), some PJs for me, and last but most definitely not least --- don't forget to pack an outfit to bring baby home in

Oh, and baby socks and a baby blanket too

I like to pack a little something special for my DH, like a book especially for daddies or a gift certificate to his favorite pizza place or something like that.

Or just put someone else in charge of telling everyone. That's what I did every time. We each called one person from our families (and one friend) and they called everyone else. Making a ton of phone calls was the last thing I wanted to do.

Thanks! Will the hospital give us diapers? Do I just need one outfit for her or more? I'm like Barb last time I went straight from the doctor's so Bill had to run home and get stuff but he forget alot of it anyway. I did all right but I want to have everything this time.

Both hospitals I've delivered in have given me diapers. You'll probably want more than one outfit, simply because you don't know if she'll spit up all over one or not. And depending on how long you stay. I packed 2 sleepers and 2 outfits for Patrick, and only used the sleepers, lol. But that's because we left the hospital at midnight. I had to stay until Patrick was 24 hours old (11:06pm) but didn't want to pay a copay on another entire day.
