I'm 35 weeks on Friday. I know what I'm going to put in my hospital bag for both her and me, but I can't come around to actually doing it. I'm just so nervous that if I get too prepared for it and pack it, that what if I'll be jinxing myself or something

We have the most absolute cutest little coming home outfit for her that my mom bought and just imagining her wearing it home excites me SO much! Just imagining her in our life makes me SO incredibly happy!!!!

And yet, I'm so beyond terrified to get too excited about thinking about bringing her home.

Set it out on a dresser and don't pack it. Then you are just "looking at it" each day. And if you happen to have a bag open next to it, you aren't packing.

I agree with Beth. I packed my bag at 38wks with Joey and we ended up just having it in the car when we went to our 40wk appt where we found out he'd died. I'm pretty sure that I will not be packing my bag until either immediately before the induction or that will be my early labor project should I go into labor before the induction.

My birthing class instructor always said to have a "early labor project" such as baking cookies...when you burn the cookies its time to go to the hospital!

I think it's ok to pack the bag. You won't be jinxing yourself. Look at me. I had the opposite with Eric. We didn't have anything for him. My last day at work before my maternity leave was Friday, July 10th and then I was supposed to have at least a week before his due date. So I thought, I will pack the bag and get his crib ready, clothes washed all during that week at home. Little did I know that on July 12 we would find out that he was dead. So at times I feel that this was a sign since nothing was prepared for him, it wasn't expected to have him with us. I know that this time around things will be different, and I would probably prepare everything ahead of time.

Yeah, it's hard when you want to have a different outcome and you want to have control over SOMETHING. I didn't pack a bag for Erin until the day before the induction. I didn't with Patrick either. Though I DID have everything I wanted together so I could just throw it in a duffel bag when I needed it, like Beth said. lol

I didn't pack anything for Mady until the morning after we found out she was ready to come out. We had the amnio in the morning, found out we were good to go for the c-section. I went home, packed my bag, and went back to the hospital. It was a little crazy, but I wouldn't have done it any differently.
