So, a friend of ours just told us today that we should keep an eye on Eva because his daughter has hand, foot, and mouth disease so Eva might get it. She has a tiny blister on one finger and on one toe so I think she might have it. There is conflicting ideas about whether it is harmful to a fetus or not if the mom gets it. I am trying my best not to freak out but I can't help it. And today is Sunday and tomorrow is a holiday so I don't know if my OB's office will be open or not. There's nothing I can do about it anyway, I guess. Ugh.
The hostess of my last baby shower brought her 4 year old daughter to my shower a couple of weeks ago. She had the same thing. I asked my doctor about it. He said that since I was no longer in the first trimester, it would not be an issue. Hopefully you can reach your OB soon so you can find out one way or another whether you should be concerned.
I don't know much about hand, foot and mouth disease, but I know that fifth disease could be harmful. I recently had a similar issue with the fifth disease which my daughter might have been exposed to. I called the doctor, and he wasn't worried and he just said that he will take a blood test next time I have an appointment with him. I just had an appointment this past Tuesday, they are supposed to call me within 5 business days with the results. I know it's really scary, especially this time around. I am hoping you and your daughter don't have it.
