Oh My!

We had gender scan at a 3d place at 16 weeks and they said boy. Today we had our anatomy scan with the perinatal specialist ultrasound place and It's very clearly a girl.

They had two different doctors come in and check without knowing what the other said. It was also obvious to me. There are clearly 3 lines and no penis.

Sooo crazy to me.

In the beginning I really wanted this to be a girl. I have a stepson so I feel like we've done the boy thing. Also, since Seth was a boy and he died, I wanted everything about this pregnancy to be different.

When we found out the boy gender, I initially cried. But, it quickly soaked in and I was happy. I've been building a life in my head around this baby boy.

So now I'm elated to be having a girl, but it sort of feels weird to not have the boy I've had for the past 3 weeks.

In other news, she is healthy! All her little parts are where they are supposed to be. She's strong and measuring the right size.

Here's her girly parts!

That's why the province I live in won't tell you until you're 20 weeks for that very reason!

Well it's a good thing that you found out now rather than be super duper surprised when you give birth lol!

And so great to hear your baby GIRL is healthy and doing well!!

I've known people who have found out the u/s was wrong at the baby's birth, so my thought was the same as Steph's. I'm sorry you were thrown for a loop like that though. Had you bought anything?

Yay for a healthy baby girl!

I hadn't bought a lot. We had already planned to be gender neutral bigger items just because they are easier to reuse and pass on. I had bought a few outfits on clearance. A couple I can still use for a girl. I have some friends that are pg so one of them might have a boy.

I was holding off for confirmation at my 20 wk before buying much. I'm glad I did!

I wanted a girl this time for the very same reasons you listed...to be as different as possible from Joey's pregnancy.

Congrats!!! We are having a blast with our newborn girl! (We also have a living boy, so its fun to experience both!)
