Hello all!! I wanted to take the time to introduce myself after a little while of lurking
My name is Ashley and I am 25. I was just married on November 11th to my best friend of 8 years, Jeff.
I have been on the pill for a little less than 8 years as well and just recently decided I wanted to stop. Not specifically to get pregnant, but because I am just tired of taking it. We completely understand the implication of not using protection and if we were to get pregnant, we feel confident we could handle it. As of recently, I just haven't been feeling like myself while taking my pill, e.g. emotional, mood swings. So after our honeymoon, I finished my last pack and did not start the next one. I feel absolutely great, no mood swings or emotional craziness.
My only concern is that I was due for my period yesterday, not even a sign of it. I know it isn't a huge amount of time, but after 8 years of predictability, that is a big deal. And yes, I took a test and got a negative result. I have read that it may take a couple of months to get into a normal swing.
But I was hoping some of you ladies would be able to shed some light on what is the norm when coming off of the pill and any of your experiences.
