Hi there. I am 24 years old and I have to be honest, I do want to have a baby. I have to wonder if having sex during my period is the best way to do it or not? I have been having unprotected sex for a solid 3 years and it hasnt happened. Maybe it is just me, but my periods are also not regular like either.

So today, I had sex, thinking my period was over. But when I went to the bathroom later in the afternoon, I was still bleeding. So I have to wonder if I would get pregnant from that? I guess I didnt pay much attention in health class, cause I am confused about all of this and could really use some help understanding it all.

Hi and welcome from the Am I Pregnant board! To give you a quick answer to your question, sex during your period is not ideal timing. Generally (depending on the length of your cycle, etc.) women ovulate in the middle of their cycles so you'd want to time intercourse just before ovulation. Hope that helps a bit.
