I'm hoping to find someone out there who has had a similar issue and maybe can give me a couple ideas.
I have a 6 year old who was potty trained at the age of 2 with no problems.
Now, I am helping raise a 2 and hlf year old. She is above average smart, but has absolutely no desire to be potty trained. She has gone potty and poo on the toilet, so she gets the idea. I have tried rewarding her for going potty and having a dry pull up, bought panties that she picked out, I even do the yeah you pottied in the toilet dance......nothing seems to work. Any ideas are welcome.

Welcome to JM! IMO she's just not completely ready.

There are lots of great boards here on JM, maybe try the potty training board to start or the mom's of toddlers board to start.

hello and welcome first of all.....as for the 2.5yr old....my only advice is do not push it...the more you push the more she will not want to do it...just let her lead you and she'll let you know when she is ready....every child is different and all potty train at different times...take my kids for example...my oldest was potty trained before she was 2, my second potty trained at 2 and a couple months and my youngest didn't potty train til almost 3!!! I never was one big on trying to push the issue....they all did it in their own time....makes for a happier kid and a less stressed out mommy too

Welcome!

I think it'll happen when she's ready. My niece was nearly 4 when she fully trained. She COULD go on the potty before that, but she had no interest. My sister tried everything. One day she just decided she would go on the potty. Some kids are just older than others...2.5 is still pretty early. Good luck, though!

Hello everyone, first welcome to JM!

I think you should try continue but don't force, some time after she'll understand and definitely go for a potty.
