Hi. I am the mum of two little boys (3 1/2 and nearly 2). I also have a horse and have been trying to do a PhD. Recently I've started suffering from fatigue and long-story-short I've realised that I cannot fit everything into my life. I am getting so worn out and I feel like I'm doing a bad job all around. I have been getting tests etc. done but o far nothing so I think it may simply be my last pregnancy knocked the stuffing out of me and I've never really been right since.
So I've been considering suspending the PhD to take some pressure off. This would mean taking my boys our of nursery (day-care) and becoming a mum full-time.
I just wanted to hear from full-time mums about how hard / rewarding / fun / tiring it is and what you do to get through your week and make it work for you. For those who left careers behind, what do you do to keep the grey matter going and your intellectual confidence up?
