I'm 39 and getting married in December. I never thought motherhood was a possibility until I met my fiance and both of us are very much looking forward to TTC and getting pregnant. The truth is I am terrified that I have missed the biological boat. I feel like my window for doing this is so small and I want this so badly. We are going to start trying in November, I just was hoping for encouragement from any older moms. I feel silly writing all of this but I have waited a lifetime to find the one and even longer to realize my dream of being a mom. Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks!! I so appreciate it!!
Welcome zippydrink! I wouldn't say you've missed the boat, but get on the next sailing, know what I mean? Come on over to the TTC older moms forum - several of us are right around your age. I have found it to be a fun and welcoming group. I conceived my first at age 38 and 2nd at 40 with no problems. 2nd pregnancy sadly miscarried but that happens A LOT regardless of mom's age.
Welcome aboard! Looking forward to getting to know you!
Username is a combo of 2 strong real-life (and fertile) mamas!
Welcome. ds was born shortly before my 43rd birthday, but it took two years of steady, stubborn effort to conceive him.
Fertility declines precipitously after 45 and most of those celebrities you see having kids in their late 40s are using donor eggs.
You are in the right place at the right time, but ITA with Guenivere about not dragging your feet; even if you want to wait until after the wedding to start TTC, it's not a bad idea to start educating yourself and getting to know the quirks and eccentricities of your own body now.
Some other good resources for you are a website called Fertility Friend and a book called Taking Charge of Your Fertility.
I'm Lisa too lol but I'm 41 . You definitely haven't missed the boat but there's no time like the present! Congratulations on everything!!! I had my boys at 37 and 38 and now think I could be preg but I'm still early in the cycle.
So glad to see someone on here that I have a lot in common with. Good luck and I hope you get your BFP straight away!
Thanks so much everyone for your encouragement . Makes me feel good to know others are in the same boat. I'll cross my fingers for you as you are doing for me!! Thank you so much for the kind words and the resources!!! i will definitely use them .
