We have been trying to conceive baby #2 since February. We weren't actively trying or doing anything to prevent it for the last 4 years. We have one daughter together who just turned 4 years old.
I never knew how much went in to "actively trying" until I did some research. I would tell people we have been trying to have a baby for like 4 years when all we were doing was randomly having sex. Boy was I wrong!

I have been charting and temping since February. I temped at the same time each morning and the results made no sense to me. It was just up and down with no system. The temping was useless for me, so I stopped.

I take 1-2 ovulation tests throughout the day (depending on how close to ovulation I am). By taking an ovulation test every morning (and at night when needed), I have come to the conclusion that I either ovulate every other cycle or I miss catching the positive ovulation test every other month.

Also, my cycles are irregular. My shortest cycle was 33 days and my longest was 52 days (all since February). The average of them all (I am currently on cycle 5 since my first cycle of trying started on February 5th, 2013).

I went to the doctor to discuss fertility on July 10th. She prescribed me Provera which I took starting the next day for 5 days. I started my period (as it was intended to make me do) 3 days after my last pill. On cycle day 3 (July 20th), I went to the hospital for lab work for fertility. My results came back great and my eggs were just as they are supposed to be. Then, they had me go back to the lab on cycle day 21 (August 7-less than a week ago) to check the progesterone to determine whether or not I ovulated yet. I told them I take tests everyday and I haven't but they said to come in anyway.

My cheapy tests have been good to me so far. The lines kept getting darker and darker (more dark at night than the morning). Tonight (August 11) I got a really dark 2 lines (like a quarter of a shade different shades). I took a digital and I got the smiley face as a positive ovulation test.

When my husband and I started dating, we used the pull out method for the first 6 months. Then, we talked about it and wanted to try not doing that because it feels better without (typical ignorant move). Within a week, I found out I was a week pregnant. It's like the first time he didn't pull out, he got me pregnant. Now, we have been unprotected for 4 years with no luck.

Anyon else have anything like this happen? It can't be me because my fertility tests came back good to go. It cant be him because we got pregnant so fast before. Why is this taking so long now? If I don't get pregnant this cycle (which I SOOOOOOOOOOOO hope I do), we are getting his sperm tested. Then if everything is a go, I will be starting chlomid. Anyone have any similar experiences??

I'm on month 5 of ttc, so I hear ya! I have very regular periods and get positive ovulation test results every month, but still no BFP! So frustrating, esp since our daughter was conceived on the first try (and my periods were super irregular back then). Sorry, I have no stellar advice, but I definitely can commiserate with you! I know I'm a little older now than the first time, but not by that much! 30 when we conceived before and I just turned 33 last month.

Ya I was 23 with our first and now Im 27. My husband is only a year older. I am hoping and praying for that BFP this month as I got my positive digital ovulation test last night and my hubby and I have been having sex every day-once every 1.5 days. Im giving you baby dust too!
