Well I had an emergency c-section my first time so I will make my decision later on. My decision will be based on estimated size of the baby and the strength of my incision. I've already been told its a bit thinner than they like to see it but that ultrasound was obviously not done while pregnant.

I do know that I will have a midwife and not a doctor this time whether I choose to go with a repeat c-section or a VBAC. Our midwives have hospital/operating room privileges here I dont know if they do everywhere. Obviously she cant perform the actual surgery but she will stay with you.

Natural.. I'd love to give birth at home, but I don't think I'd be comfortable with it being out first baby.. so I'll be giving birth at the hospital completely naturally.. I have a very high pain tolerance.

^^ me too. I did end up with an epidural on the advice of my doctor (something about my blood pressure) but it did nothing for the pain and I refused the second dose.

It definitely didnt hurt as much as I thought it would hurt (I got to the pushing stage and pushed over 2 hours before they determined she was too big) the c-section actually hurt more!

I really want to try to go natural. Unfortunately, midwives are illegal here, so I'll be stuck in the hospital. But I'll be dang if they want to try to hook me up to IVs and crap right away. I want to be able to get up, walk, get in the tub, and all of that without being hooked up to IVs. I am realistic though. I've never had a child, so don't know how natural childbirth will be, other than hurt like heck! But I have a high pain tolerance, and would like to try. But, if I see I can't handle it, then I'll just suck it up and get something for the pain, but preferably NOT an epidural. There is just something about putting the needle in my back that freaks me out, and I don't freak out easily.
