I've shaken a box or two, but haven't tried to peek by unwrapping, even though I was quite talented at that as a kid,

Step one. Get knife.

Step 2. Get tape.

Step 3. Use knife to open present.

Step 4. Look at present in awe.

Step 5. Rewrap present.

Step 6. Put away tape and knife.

Step 7. Act surprised 12 hours later :-)
