Just wanted to introduce myself. I am Christy (31) and have a precious 20 month old named Emily. I have been married to my DH for 6 years. After two years of TTC and a m/c after an IUI we finally got pregnant with Emily with our 2nd IUI. Since we couldn't afford the fees of going to an RE my regular OB did the IUI's. Before having Emily all I knew was that I had a short LP which I took Prochieve for and that besides that the reason for our infertility was unkown. They did bw on me, and HSG and a SA on Dh and all was well. So after having Emily, we never went back to any sort of BC and then start TTC naturally with progesterone this past March. In August we attempted an IUI and then again in September. Both resulted in a BFN. Some interesting news that we found out with these last two IUI's was that Dh's sperm counts were 10 million and then 18 million. The other thing they told me was that there was very little moving sperm post wash. Now since money is tight my DH says why bother doing another $$ SA since IUI is our only option (we can't afford IVF) so we don't know the actual numbers with motility etc... My assumption is that almost 3 years ago when they just did a plain ole SA and it came out with a normal sperm count that it was just a fluke. If they would have done a more extensive SA it probably would have shown more issues. So my guess is we have been dealing with MFI all along. Since dh won't agree to pay for a SA, I guess we will never know. SO... right now we are taking a break from the IUI's until the spring and the doctor wants to try the IUI's with Clomid next. Until then I have started Dh on a multi-vitamin and my question is, should he take any other supplements on top of that? Maybe vitamins and exercise will improve some things by our next IUI. I don't know much about this so am looking to ya'll... the experts.

Ok, there was my very lengthy and wordy introduction!

Welcome. I'm April (22) married to Jeff (22).. We're on Month 14 of TTC our first, doing one last IUI this month while we wait for our IVF paperwork to go through (hopefully we won't need it). My DH has low counts (16 million), low motility (18%) and low morphology (15%), his counts post wash for our last IUI were only 357,000.

Anyway some good vitamin regimens are FertileAid or GNC Mega Men Performance and Vitality.. Definitely exercise and drinking lots of OJ and stuff too. Good luck!

Thank you! Does your DH take those? Has it helped him?

My DH takes the GNC vitamin pack and Clomid, it takes 92 days for new sperm to form though so we don't know if/any effect they've had (he started taking them in October).

My DH took clomid and vitamins and while the didn't help his mobility it did increase the amount of sperm he produced.

I'm Brandi, one of the co-hosts! I'm 31, and my DH, David, is 32. We have been TTC since Oct. 06, and we are taking a breaking this month. DH has low count, but had surgery in June to fix the problem, and we are waiting to have repeat SA to see if it worked. what April said about the GNC vitamins, or the FertileAid for Men.

I hope you really enjoy the board, we have lots of great women here who are pretty much experts, so if you have any questions, concerns, or rants, feel free to share!

Welcome. I am Juli and I am jealous that your DH's count is still in the millions DH has severe oligospermia (low sperm count) and they can't even find twenty sperm in a "natural" sample. The doctors suspect a physical blockage is preventing sperm from leaving his testicles.

We are scheduled for a testicular biopsy on 1/30/09. The doctors will actually try to extract sperm directly from DH's testicles in that procedures. If they find a lot, their theory is confirmed that his issue is one of sperm delivery, not of sperm production. If they don't find anyway, well I guess we're kinda back to square 1. Anything that they do find will be frozen for an IVF cycle which we'll be doing in Feb, if all goes well.

Even though our doctors suspect that my DH is making sperm, it's just not getting to where it needs to go, I still started him on Fertilaid in October. I figured it couldn't hurt to have all our bases covered!!

Good luck and welcome
