Ok, what would you do? I called my ex-boss where I worked before I went back to college (worked for 3 yrs, was a evening shift supervisor) and its at an answering service for drs. and such, and asked if she needed any help. She told me 'I think we got it covered.' Well, that didn't sound right, because they are always needing people because folks just get fed up and walk out. It's not an easy environment to work in. So I asked my friend who was with me at the time to call a little while later, and they said that they needed 2 people desperately and immediately and set her up for an interview today! WTH??? I feel like this is discrimination and/or unfair hiring practices. Should I report what she is doing to someone? Honest opinion/advice please.

My first questions would be... did you leave in bad terms? Whats the policy for rehiring at that company?

Some companies have a NO rehire rule that maybe your ex supervisor didn't want to tell you about.

Other, than calling your ex supervisor and trying to find out why she did this, I really don't think there is much to do...

But I wouldn't take it personally... your better than that!


Uhm just thought of another thing, maybe you were making to much $$ before and they need to start someone of at a lower salary or maybe your ex supervisor is threaten by you!

I didn't leave on bad terms, I left because of health reasons. I had to either quit work, or quit school. And I can't call the office manager who was over me then, who I was so close to, because she died this past year. The one I talked to was the owner, and she has always had that 'holier than thou' attitude. And making too much money was definitely NOT the issue, lol. After 3 years, and being a evening shift supervisor, I made right at $8/hr. Sad but true. They do have a no re-hire policy, but that shouldn't have been the issue. I'm pretty sure she never liked me personally, because I wasn't the type to get yelled at or witched at for no reason, or for someone else's mistake, and not have something to say about it, hee hee. I didn't roll over and submit is I guess what I'm trying to say. Oh well, I hated the job with an ultimate passion anyways. I just need a job.
