called(Reposted in proper section of JM), well not her but her assistant and say, well "we can try it again and you have two weeks to think about it." I immediately said "think about iui with injects vs what?" You could hear a cricket through the phone. I then went on to say that I would like both RE's to consult about our fertility work up and then get back to me with what they believe would be best for optimal success. The reason I am adamant about them working as a team is because when we went in for our IUI, we seen a different doctor and he clearly stated that he would not perform an iui with morphology below 5%(My dh's was 2.5%). As some of you could imagine we felt hoodwinked.

Also, I love my job and I do not want to take 3 or 4 more months leaving for all kinds of appointments that are not OB (hehehehe). And my husbands esteem collapses with every failed attempt.

So, the question is do I want to chance another month on an iui/inject cycle when I know the chance for success is low?

Wow, that is a hard question. Personally, I think I would try one more cycle of IUI. It's just my opinion, because I really don't want to ever do IVF. Plus, IUI is way cheaper. But again, it's your body, and yours and DH's emotions

I am actually at that step now... well after surgery. RE mentioned that our next IUI might be better if we did it with injectables. However, I am using a donor sperm for our IUIs.

DH was at 4% and our RE recommended that we not waste our money on IUI using his sperm.

I am still going to look at the pros/cons of using injectables... because I do ovulate and sometimes have multiple eggs.. but again we pay for our sperm. I personally wouldn't continue with IUI with that low of sperm count unless the injectables we in some way going to help CONNECT!

But its all up to you.. whatever way you choose.. I wish you the best of luck...and remember we only need one sperm to connect!!

For me, it would be all about the finances. If you aren't paying for IUI's (my insurance covers mine), then sure, go for it. Otherwise, it might be a good idea to move on to IVF and quit spending money on IUI's, since DH's morphology is so low. There is always a chance the IUI might work, but it probably isn't all that likely - your chemical was probably due to the morphology issues.

Good luck - it's a tough road, but you'll get through it!!

Thank you for replying. Between me, you and JM I thought the same thing about the chemical because if there is morph issues then the few good ones are fighting to get through the other 97.5% idiots(not to be mean but you know what I'm saying). Without the help of ICSI they don't stand a chance and I may have the same issue the next iui cycle. I bled like crazy with this chemical too and we're thinking more than one implanted because of my early pg symptoms and the prolonged bleeding.

Our insurance covers IUI as well, unfortunately we will never be able to use them unless we use a donor, which I really am not to fond of. My opinion would be to do IVF with ICSI, so they can get the best sperm and fertilze the egg with that, instead of the "dumb" sperm lol. If I were in your position that is what I would do...I've not really gotten a chance to meet ya yet, but I've been around JM for a while..and recently found out our trouble concieving was due to severe male infertility. I'm glad to be back after a few months off lol

Thank you Ashley for replying...dh wanted to do ICSI as soon as the alternate RE said he would not do IUI with those numbers but he was just a stand in for our primary. Our IUI's/IVF's are covered for 50% and would be a lot less but overtime it will cost more in heartache and possible miscarriages. I understand not wanting to do donor sperm, at least without trying the ICSI
