Hi...I am not sure if my DH has male infertility issues...he got a SA done, and I'm having some issues decifering it, and my GP was not a huge help at all. Can anyone help me?

post the results..it's easier for someone to answer if they know what the results are.

It starts with remarks...

Liquefaction SMN Qn Normal
Semen Vol Patient 2.1>2.0 ml Normal

Semen-Complete Analysis1
Sperm Motile Smn QI Mircro
Remarks: Sperm Agglutinin Not Present
Fwd Progression Straight line-High Speed
70% > 40%

Seman-Complete Analysis3
Sperm # Smn 57 >= 20.0 Million/ml

Semen-Complete Analysis4
Sperm SMN 2.0 % >=14.0% normal sperm

I know there is some good things in there, but it's the last one that I'm concerned about.

Yeah, it appears there may be a morphology issue. The total count and motility are very good.

Can you call the lab that did the test and ask someone there to walk you through the results?

Unfortunately, there is no number on the paperwork, cause it was forwarded to my GP and my GP has no idea how to read it properly. It is impossible for me to get pregnant this way? I have been referred to a fertility clinic here in Manitoba, and I guess I could wait till that appointment, but it is months away... It's just getting so frustrating, it seems with every peice of good news we have bad news.

You might want to ask your GP to recommend a fertility urologist. A urologist would be able to read the information.

We had the same thing happen with DH's 2nd SA, we went thru our GP so it would be covered by insurance but he couldn't read the results and we went back to our urologist.

HUGS!!

As long as DH has some normal sperm it's ALWAYS possible to get pregnant. Don't give up!

the other girls. I would ask for a referral to a urologist. I would also call the lab where the SA was done and ask them to walk you thru the results. But I agree, it looks like there is some morphology issues. And like Juli said, as long as there is some normal sperm, pregnancy is possible. Good Luck!

Our RE interpreted ours but honestly...the urologist would have done a better job and could have saved us a lot of time and money. Good luck

Thank you so much ladies...

I am going to wait till we see our fertility specialist...and they will be able to explain the results better. I am still going to try, same as we always have...hoping that one of those few normal ones will break threw the pack!!! Wishing you ladies all the best for TTC.
