Thanks, girls! DH got home around 7:00 so I told him then, and he was okay with it. Like me, he expected it. Last week was the initial shock of finding out about the extra chromosome, so this was a little easier. Still hard, but easier if that makes any sense. His Mom also was okay. We meet with the urologist next Wednesday, and have to schedule an appointment with the fertility specialist after that to go over our plans. We're leaning towards using donor sperm, but need to see what our options will be for that. With my own fertility problems, even before learning of DH's, the doctors were talking IUI with injectibles, or more likely IVF as the best chance. Not sure which will be the best option now. It's alot to consider.
With the insurance, I'm going to call them today to see if they have any exceptions to their clause of not covering fertility treatments using donor eggs or sperm. With DH not physically being able to produce any sperm, maybe they can make an exception. It would be so nice to have some of this covered by the insurance. So, we'll see what they say. I feel we have nothing to lose by asking.
and Brandi, these results are from the testicular biopsy and no sperm was found so IVF with Tony's sperm is not going to be an option now.
So, that's where we're at. I'll keep you all updated.
