My hubby was in an accident a year ago and has been on different pain meds since, one of them including methadone for about 2-3 months. We are TTC for the past two cycles with no success. I am attributing it to methadone which causes low sperm count, morphology, and motility.

Does anyone know how long it takes to raise his sperm count once he is off the methadone? He has been off of it for two months now.

I'm not sure about the amount of time it takes in regards to methadone use. But I do know that it takes roughly 92 days for new sperm to form. So depending on how long it takes for the methadone to completely leave your system, it takes about 3 months after that. In about another month or so, I would make an appt with a urologist, and have your DH do a semen analysis to see where the count is. I hope this helps!
