Hi everyone! I haven't been on JM in a while.

Earlier this year, we found that we have MFI My husband got tested and there was only 56K sperm in there. They didn't even mention motility because of the low count.

But we are still trying. He's stopped all caffeine and taking a vit supplement (already wearing boxers). I have a question about when you actually BD.

How do you do it? This is embarrassing but we don't get to get together as often as we want to because of his work schedule. He works overnight and having an 8 year old sometimes ruins plans..lol

We do make the time when it's the "right" time but obviously, if we haven't done anything for a while, that's no good either. I usually O around CD20 or 21 (5 week cycle here). How many days before that should we bd just to get a "fresh" supply?

Am I making any sense?

I'm going to try to convince him to get a second SA done to be sure. We're supposed to be waiting on a referral that's not coming but since we switched insurances last month, we don't need one so I'm going to find out the name of a dr and go ourselves.

Also, our daughter was an unplanned thing and now we can't get pregnant. I just don't get it. It took a long while for hubs to stop beating himself over the head. I'm not sure what happened between then and now either.

I'm not even sure if we can get pregnant. The dr said it's not "impossible" but it would be hard. *sigh* We are so ready. We've been ttc since our dd turned 1

Hello & - I'm Becky (35), DH is Tony (35). We've been TTC for a while now, and found out this year that unfortunately my DH is completely infertile. As far as when to BD, unless I'm on clomid, I typically O late as you do, around CD19. Before we found out my DH had no spermies, the doc had told us to start BDing every other day from CD10 until after I'm sure I O'd. After charting for a while, I discovered I didn't O near the CD14, so DH & I started BDing every other day from CD14 until after we know we O'd. I also could use my CM & CP as a guide to know when I was about to O. You could also use OPKs, as those are great predictors for many women. Once you get the positive OPK, start BDing. OPKs don't always work for every woman tough. As far as BDing enough to ensure a "fresh" supply, we tried not to let it go more then 5 days between BDing. That's what they recommended with s/a, so we went by that guide. I hope you can get in for the 2nd s/a soon, as I think it's best to have all the information so you know what you're dealing with. Good luck & keep us posted!!

Hi! My DH found out he had zero sperm, so we're waiting for a second to confirm that (hopefully not though). About when to BD, my doctor has us BDing only starting CD 14 (I O on CD 14) and then every other day until AF comes. So he wants us to have 2 weeks of not doing anything. I know everybody's doctor will probably say something different, but that's just what mine said. Hope that helps and I hope your 2nd s/a is better! A lot can change in a guys count!

Given my situation....zero sperm count, I can't personally advise you on when to BD...from what I've read, I think that they say BD every other day, for 4 days before O and 2 days after. I wish you the best of luck!!!!

Hello there. I'm sorry you didn't get a better new.
Normal Sperm Count: Basics on Semen Analysis

My DH's SA count was 8.2 Mil with no motility. We were told IVF/ICSI was our option.

Are you able to do IVF?

I don't know if we can or not. I know it's not enough to do IUI. We don't have the money for IVF and I don't know if I would want to save up for so long and maybe get no results. We decided if we were going to spend that much, we would adopt. Until we have the money, we are still trying on our own.

I do opks and my CM usually tells me when I am close to o-ing. After 7 years, I'm pretty in tune with what my body is doing..lol

I know my luteal phase is 14 days so I'm good there.

I'm hoping for a miracle.

Hi Deirdre, nice to meet you. I don't have any input on how often to BD since my husband and I are using donor sperm, but I just wanted to say welcome and good luck!
