my advice to you would be to get him on fertilaid for men. I had my DH on that for a few months and now he is also on Tribulus Terrestris.
and we have not had another SA done yet but DH swears its working.
oh also hun it takes about 3 months for the supplements to make a difference in count, quality and mobility.
im sorry I know how hard it is TTC and having it not happen for you. we have TTC for 2 years now.

Hello there
Have you considered IVF? Yes vitamins may help but that is not going to mean it's going to improve his sperm count dramatically high.
My DH has severe sperm count and we have been TTC for 3 years. Hang in there.

What has the doc recommended? I'm careful (probably over cautious) when it comes to adding supplements, vitamins, meds, etc. without discussing first with the doctor. Different combinations can interfere with the body, and I'd hate to see you doing that. For instance, I see many ladies here advising the use of baby aspirin to help with their lining & implantation. I have bad reactions to any aspirin product (iron drops really low & can have tummy lining bleeding), thankfully I knew this already, but if I followed all advise I'd seen during our TTC journey I could have ended up with several additional health issues.
As far as IUI vs IVF, it really depends on what the MFI is and what the doc recommends. If your DH's motility is extremely low, you may not have choice but to try IVF. With the IUI, it bypasses the spermies having to swim up thru the cervix and deposits them directly in the uterus. But they still need to be mobile enough to swim to the eggie. With IVF, they may have a better chance.
Good luck!!!

he advised dh to not drink at all. and once again reminded him not to wear tighty whiteys. then to stick with the schedule he gave us before. having sex every other day for 10 days starting on the 10th of my cycle. he also said to continue charting, and using ovulation kits. dh is going to start using fertilaid. and he said to come back in 2 months and he'll do another hystergraph to check my tubes. than refer dh to a urologist once the insurance picks back up. and infertility counseling.

Okay, so he gave you some instructions to follow. It's not quick fix answers, but it's start. Hopefully by the time you come back in 2 months, you will be pg and won't need to worry about the urologist or infertility counseling. And if you're not, hopefully the insurance in picking back up, will cover some of this. Hang in there! I know it's hard to be patient, but try to keep positive. **hugs**

Naenae,
I know it's hard to be positive, I myself have spent a good deal of my MFI journey just being pissed at the world. I believe that a healthier lifestyle might improve the Semen Analysis results.
I myself was heading for IVF until 2 days ago. Now, a new doctor has shed some light on the problem and offered surgery as an option to restore my DH's sperm count. So, you never know. Things could always turn around. Now, I just have to get my DH to quit smoking...

well dh was lectured by the dr so now hes really starting to buckle down.....he used to drink every weekend, not anymore, we've also agreed on eating better. especially since we gained weight after the wedding. thank you so much adnelg775, BeckyM, Lisap2008, Aaron Rachel and everyone else that has offered advice and support. you guys have helped alot. i appreciate it so much. dh is very quiet about this and really doesnt want me discussing it with ppl we know. you guys are a great support system. but i will keep you updated. he's starting his fertilaid next week....

I don't know anything about the male infertility supplements...Thick jelly-like semen might mean he needs to drink some more water. That's just a complete guess. Sorry I can't be more help on this one.
