So I got a copy of the "slightly abnormal" SA results; here ya go (any input would be appreciated!)

THE NORMAL RESULTS:
volume 1.6 ml
ph 8.5
motility 51%
forward progression 4
sperm count per ML 50 x 10 6/ml
sperm count per ejaculate 80 x 10 6/ml
Total, motile, viable sperm 40.8

THE ABNORMAL RESULTS:
viability 54% (normal >75%)
morphology 26% (normal >30%)

These are the few questions I came up with....we only had 1 session of BD prior to this sample being collected, on CD 8. This sample was collected on CD 12. Prior to CD8 CD the last time BD took place was on CD 34 on my 35 day cycle. I am just wondering if this maybe had something to do with the abnormals ??? Not enough BD to get rid of the "old stuff ?" I dont know....
Plan is to repeat another SA in a few months.
Any additional input would be great

I would definitely get a repeat SA done - I wouldn't wait a few months for it - I'd wait about 2 weeks - SA samples vary a lot from one sample to another.

IF that sample is still abnormal then you should look into vitamin regimens to improve everything (there are a bunch of posts about them in this forum if you want to search- I always recommend GNC's Performance and Vitality Vitamin packs because everything is in it).

Other than that with the count and everything else - ya'll would be prime candidates for IUI - the morphology really isn't *too* bad! Good Luck!

I think another S/A would be a good idea. And I've heard from ladies here that there has been improvement with vitamins/supplements. Hopefully this was just a bad sample, and the next S/A will be better. Good luck!!

I'm not sure about the number's since my DH had 0, he didn't get any numbers but I would definitely look into the vitamins. Good luck with the next s/a I hope you get good results!!

Thanks Brandi !
I need ALL the encouragement I can get because I've not ever really been that upset when my OB/GYN doc said she discussed my case with an RE & he suggested IUI (without ever meeting us). Can I be real personal & ask how you did the timed BD ? I try to do that, but going on cycle 20 and nothing has helped yet. Did you use OPK's when you did the timed thing ? I use those plus temp. Also congrats on your pregnancy !!!! I'm more of a lurker myself here but have kept up with a lot of your posts & story. So happy for you !!!!!!!
PS Did you DH do anything different to up his morph % ?? Was anything else abnormal on his SA ? Did you do more than 1 SA ? Thanks !!!

DH has very low morph too... 4% last time! But it has gone up from 2% the time before. He has cut down on caffeeine, takes omega 3 pill, zinc, folic acid and his regualar vitamin. We see results in his numbers from this too!!! I think your morph is good IMO! I got pg last time with his morph at 2% through IUI. Timed intercourse never worked for us. I charted, used OPK's...

I am hopeful that his morph will improve with the next SA after having him start on a multiv. & also taking L-Carnitine supplement. I dont want to have to move on to IUI at all Not that any of us really do..... did the 1st IUI work out for you ?? Thanks for your input !
