My DH was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism a few months ago. We have been TTC for 6 months. No luck yet. Our family doctor put him on thyroid meds, but recent blood work indicated it isn't enough, so she increased the dose. My OB says that we have to wait a hear to be tested for fertility issues, but I am wondering if his recent diagnoses might be part of the reason we are not getting pregnant. From the little that I have read it can cause low sperm count and poor sperm quality. I think this might eventually change once the meds get regulated, but is it worth getting a semen analysis now to see what is going on?

If you think we should get the semen analysis who do we go to? The family doc? The OB?

For a semen anaylsis you need to find a fertility clinic in your area.

are you ovulating each month?.

there may not be anything wrong , it sometimes just takes a while to get pregnant. it took me 3 years to get pregnant with my first, we later found out it was my pcos keeping us from conceiving.
