I was just thinking of posting an update thread too, April. It has been very quiet & I hope everyone is doing well.
AFM - everything is going great. No major problems with this pg & we go tomorrow for our anatomy scan. Hopefully Smudge (our LO's nickname) will cooperate and we'll find out the gender.

I've been posting more in the med. assist link but with us, we are going to meet with an RE for the 1st time in just 5 days My ob/gyn had been trying to get me convinced to go see him for several months. Even with the tests I went thru & DH's SA results she had spoke with the RE for advice & he had already suggested to her we would do best with IUI (based on our tests) . .... So anxious to find out what our new plan will be !

Becky - omg where did the time go? I can't believe you're almost halfway done!! I can't wait to see what you're having - don't forget to update us here!!
Jen - Good Luck with your RE! It is an exciting step :0) I hope IUI works for ya'll!
AFM - I'll be 34 weeks tomorrow - doing great. I'm pretty annoyed with my Docs though - I'm diagnosed with Gestational Diabetes for ONE point - I'm going to talk with them on Tuesday at my appt to see if I can do the GTT one more time... I also have "chronic high blood pressure" for one high reading before 20 weeks and one high reading after 20 weeks - nvm that every other time it's normal.. so I have to go to twice weekly non stress tests (and the high readings were only like 135/90 - so not even really high).... military hospitals are so strict sometimes... Savannah is doing great though - so that's all that matters.

sounds like you girls are doing great! Not much to update on me, we're doing our first IVF cycle. We still don't know if DH has any sperm or not, so we're going into the egg retrieval with hopes that he does and donor sperm as a backup. I have been on ttcMA more too, since I have mostly IVF questions now, but I will be sure to update here any big news I have.

Jen - Good Luck with your RE appt! I'm keeping my crossables crossed for you & hope the IUI works perfectly for you. My 2nd IUI cycle worked perfectly for me. and I LOVE your new siggy pic. Your furbabies are so adorable!!
April - Wow - you'll be meeting little Savannah soon!! Time has flown!!! I'm sorry you're having doctor issues and the GD and blood pressure. Do you think they're just being extra cautious and wanting to protect themselves liability wise? And what hospital are you having to go to for the scans & eventually the delivery? There's a wonderful hospital in Columbia (near Fort Meade) but it's not military.
Aimee - great to hear an update from you! Good luck with this IVF cycle & I hope & pray they find spermies. When are they "looking" for spermies in your DH? Having a backup donor is a good decision, and I hope you found one that you & DH are both happy with. We are both very happy with the one we chose, but it took time to decide on the bank and then the donor. Please PM me if I can assist or if you ever need to talk/vent/etc.
AFM - I have to call my OB this morning to get the results of my GD test. They tested me earlier then normal since I already have insulin resistance issues (have PCOS) and they left me a message at home yesterday. Hopefully I passed the 1 hour test. And then at 1:30, I go in to the peri for my anatomy scan. We're hoping this LO will cooperate and we'll see the gender. I don't always have time to get online in the evenings or weekends much, but I'll update you all as soon as I can.

Aimee - How's the IVF going? How are you feeling? I found IVF to be really exciting (nerve wracking too!)
Becky - I hope you passed your 1 hour! The 3 hour is so boring lol.. I hope your LO cooperates today... I'm feeling boy for you
I'm going to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda - I have no choice but to go there since I have Tricare Prime.. Although if the weather is bad when I go into labor - I have to go to the closest L&D which would be Baltimore Washington Medical - fun fun! I do think they're being extra cautious - that's normal for military facilities but it's still a royal pain .. I haven't changed my diet at all and my sugars are always completely normal - and I take my bp at home and it's always normal as well

Becky, we are really happy with the donor we chose. He has a similar ethnic background as DH and actually has the same college GPA! LOL their childhood pictures are really similar and he is the same blood type, height and weight as DH. He is basically the Californian version of my DH. They are going to do a fresh sperm harvest the same day as my egg retrieval, so I'm assuming we will find out that day if he has any sperm or if they are going to use donor.
April, IVF is going slow, uneventful so far. I'm on day 6 of stims and go tomorrow morning for my 2nd u/s and b/w since starting the stims. I def was not expecting to give myself as many shots as I have been, since I lost most of my right ovary in an appendectomy they have me on a protocol they use for women who respond poorly . I'm doing 525 of Gonal F right now, which compared to everyone else on the ttcMA board seems like A LOT! It also means I have 5 injections a day, but it will all be worth it to have a baby finally. I am pretty worried that I won't respond well, but then I think about how much Gonal F I'm taking and I wonder if thats even possible I guess I will probably feel like more is going on after my appt tomorrow.

April - Navy Med is a good hospital, but that's a drive for you to be doing each week. And in that traffic - I work in Montgomery County so we're in that traffic Mon -Fri.
Jessie - Good luck with your IUI!! I'll keep my crossables crossed for you!!!
Heather - Wow!! You're so close! I LOVE your siggy pic and can't wait to meet your LO!!
Aimee - I'm so happy you found a donor you're both happy with. We were thrilled to find a Greek donor and he had so many similar characteristics to my DH. Even the sense of humor we could pick up in the written responses. I hope & pray they find spermies with your DH, and thankful you have the backup donor ready just in case. Good luck sweetie!!!

I am stuck in limbo for a while...I am waiting to go back to the RE and have my bloodwork, and after that, I don't know! I am hoping that everything will be good and that my doctor will start off my monitoring cycle with my next period, and that hopefully start IVF after that, soooo....February/March IVF w ICSI????
In the meantime, I just try and stick to my diet, through all of these holiday shindigs, it's not easy! But I do not want to miss my goal of weigt loss, and a better GTT result. I am really longing to be actively TTC!

April and Heather congratulations on your pregnancies Not sure if you both remember me, as you were both here when this board was first developed and I was a bit more active then! I am pleased that you are so very close to graduating!!
As for me since I was last here we continued to try naturally and well, we know it is not going to happen for a looooong time so I finally got hubbyman onboard to look into IVF. We have our telephone consult in Feb and hope to cycle in the summer. So we are in the "hurry up and wait" mode.
All the best to the other ladies awaiting to be blessed with babies and congrats to the other mamas-to-be awaiting delivery
Blessings.

I haven't been around in any of the boards much because I am just waiting. And this waiting feels like its been years when its only been 4 months. Wednesday DH and I go back to the urologist and then we will hopefully be able to get back to ttc.

I'm back with an update! They found 5 spermies in DH! Poor guy had to get 6 sites looked at and they didn't find anything right away. We actually left the retrieval with the understanding we'd be doing donor sperm, but then we got a call on our way home that they had found 4 sperm! They called the next morning to let us know only 1 had fertilized, but they had found another sperm and were going to ICSI it, but 2nd day ICSI doesn't work well. Our case was no exception, so we have one miracle bean that we are going to be transferring tomorrow morning at 10:15!! I know that this baby is a fighter and will be in it for the long haul, so I am just going to do everything I can this week to make it a little easier for implantation to happen. I have lots of rest planned for my Christmas break!
I hope everybody enjoys the holidays! I'll prob be on here a lot the next few days, so I'll stop in to see if there are any updates.
