MEDS: me- none DH- 50 mg Clomid every other day
SYMPTOMS: AF is here
WHAT CYCLE IS THIS FOR YOU? 17 yikes
DID YOU DO ANYTHING DIFFERENT THIS CYCLE? DH has been on Clomid since January, he had his first set of bloodwork done this past week to see if his hormone levels are doing ok. It's still too early to hope any sperms are coming out, but we're hoping to see some change in his hormone levels so at least we can keep hoping in April we may see some sperm in the s/a!

What was the last count of your hubbys sperm count? Also- can you explain what Clomid does for males? I've never heard of males being on it. Thats kinda cool!! About time that they take clomid-- man....I HATE that stuff!!!!

DH has 0 sperm on s/a's... we did IVF in Dec and they did a fresh sperm harvest the day of retrieval and after hours of searching samples from 6 sites they only found 5 sperm. DH's urologist told us that DH produces sperm, but on the absolute lowest level. He is taking Clomid to raise his testosterone and LH which will hopefully "trick" his body into producing more sperm. Very similar actually to what it does for women, he just has to take it all the time instead of 4 days a cycle. For us, Clomid is a shot in the dark, but it has been shown to improve sperm count not always by a lot, but in our case any improvement is welcome!

HSG are kinda scary. I had one done last summer and was terrified at first. I'll tell you a little about mine. First, DH was allowed to come in the room with me but had to stand behind a glass wall during the procedure, so it helped to be able to look at him the whole time rather then the doctors faces. Anyways, They had me put on a hospital type gown. I laid on a table under some big x-rays machines. They inserted a cath and told me that it would be a little painful. They then shot some dye through my tubes, one at a time, and at some point during the dye process, they had me turn on my sides. They took x-rays while all this was going on. I do have to admit that it was pretty painful but I've heard many other people say they had no pain with it. I was in and out of there in about 10-15 mins. So if it is scary for you, just know that It is a really quick procedure. I had some spotting after wards but it lasted about an hour. I had some mild cramping too but some Tylenol and resting on the couch helped.
I hope this is a good experience for you. Don't forget to let us know how it went!

I'm not TTC right now, but do pop in & out and try to respond if I can assist with posts.

I'm Becky, DH is Tony. We're currently pg using donor sperm with a little boy. On my end, I have PCOS and am an older mama (36 in May). With DH, he was born with a genetic condition resulting in zero sperm. We found that out after a year of TTC, and further testing including biopsies showed no sperm at all was possible. So, after taking some time off, we decided to proceed with IUI using donor sperm. We were successful our 2nd cycle.

MEDS: DH on 25mg Clomid, 3 days per week
SYMPTOMS: None.
WHAT CYCLE IS THIS FOR YOU? 14
DID YOU DO ANYTHING DIFFERENT THIS CYCLE? DH started Clomid and had varicocele repair surgery last week. His sperm count will probably go down before it (hopefully) goes up so I'm not expecting any miracles for the next few cycles!

By way of introduction, my name is Amy and DH is Jeff. We are both 29 years old and were diagnosed with severe MFI a couple of months ago. At last SA, DH had 1 million total motile sperm. We are hoping the clomid and varicocele surgery helps but, we are saving aggressively for IVF with ICSI.

Ugh Keri, I am not looking forward to this at all! At least it's over quickly like you said. And it's pointless for us to try anything else before we make sure the eggo can get through my tubies!!!

Its great to meet you all!!!

BeckyM- You have such a great story about you and your husband. I am SO glad that you two were still able to get pregnant with a sweet little baby. I can't wait to see baby pics in May!!!

Gatorbaby
- I REALLY hope that your DHs sperm increases. I have heard many miracles with the repair surgery. My fingers are crossed for you both!! You better keep us posted. When is the next SA?

SarieP
- I forgot to ask you-- when do you think your HSG will be? You're pretty late in your cycle right? So it should be soon?

Hi! My name is Amber (FLMom6) - I can't answer most of the questions because we will not start TTC until April but I wanted to introduce myself. I was on the board a few times back in November and then got a message from Keri today reminding me about the board so...here I am!

My DH had a vasectomy reversal on Wednesday. He is recovering now and the doctor said the surgery went GREAT! There was clear fluid found on both the right and the left side and he saw sperm heads w/ broken tails on both sides! That is all good news!! We will not be able to do a SA until 3 months but we can start trying in 4 weeks. The day we can start trying (April 16th) is the day I start ovulating!! Pretty cool, I thought! Maybe it was meant to be!!

While we were in the waiting room on Wednesday I was reading the millions of letters, cards, emails, Christmas cards and birth announcments of people praising the doctor for their miracle child and I kept thinking - this could be me! I could be writing a thank you card very soon!! Some of the couples go prego on the very first month they started trying! Others are still waiting....but have found that they have other fertility issues on top of the reversal -

I'm hoping we are a success story!

Hey Jesse~ Welcome back to the board!! I'm so glad you returned!! I wish you allll the luck in your upcoming IVF. I heard IVF is pretty stressful- We've been suggested to do it but haven't come to terms yet. How is your stress level so far? I know you're only on the BC stage, but how do you feel about all the upcoming shots and transfers?

Amber (FLmom6) So glad you're back here at the board too!! Sounds like you are heading in the right direction! I am soo excited that you two get to start TTC in April!! That would be so amazing if you got pregnant the first cycle! As far as looking at the Christmas cards and Thank you cards at your Docs office- I do the same and it seems to give me hope. It kinda RE- motivates me to keep on trying cause you never know if those babies came from parents who have the same issues as we do. Good luck and please keep us posted!!
