How long did it take after starting TTC to get a diagnose of MFI??

DH and I started TTC in Jan 09. I have Endometriosis so after 6 months of trying and no luck, we assumed it was me. So I went in for blood work and an HSG. The blood work was fine and my HSG showed open tubes but was put on clomid for super long cycles. Anyways, after getting the "All clear" for me- It was DHs turn to do some testing. It was then in July we found DH had a 7 million count, a 1% motility rate and a super low morphology count.

Well, we had a head start because DH had a vasectomy reversal when we got married. He was ten years out from his vasectomy, and thankfully the soldiers came back, but in depleted numbers, and with slightly deformed helmets.

We started ttc in Oct. 2008, but had been NTNP since we got married in July 2006. In August of 2009 I decided I wanted to start the testing then, we got the all clear with me and then found out at the end of August DH has a 0 sperm count.

Well we started TTC in Sept 2009, I went to my OBGYN in January because of long cycles and she suggested we get DH tested (she said that's the first thing any couple should do when they have been TTC for a while just to make sure) so then it came back bad and we knew there was something wrong with him and me!

My DH has a 9.8 million sperm count, 29% motility and 3% morphology

What did your doctor recommend?

That's pretty much the same as what happened with us. We only TTC for 1 month, and I scheduled an RE appointment because of my super long wacky cycles. Since she knew we were moving in a few months, she wanted to be thorough and had DH get a S/A, even though we never suspected anything to be wrong. Wrong. Count 200,000, 4% morphology, <10% motility (and those that were moving were spinning in circles).

Oh wow Daisee, that is crazy. What did you guys do?

We proceeding to try IUI, but no luck. We then did IVF with ICSI and got BFP with Brianna.

My doctor recommended IUI. So we did 2- and both failed. We've been TTC on our own with Clomid ever since the IUIs (aug and sep) but if we're not pregnant by May, we will do another IUI in Mays cycle. My RE DOES recommend IVF but we're not financially ready for that yet.
