To sum me up... I'm Tammy 33, DH is Matt 38. He has 3 kids from a previous marriage and we are ttc our 1st together since last April. I knew in my heart that something would prevent me from getting pg and I was diagnosed with PCOS in Oct 2009. I finally found a doc willing to put me on Metformin and haven't really been on it long enough to know if it's helped with my cycles. I also finally got into my OBGYN after waiting 3 months for the appt and we'll see if that helped me. This was all part of my journey that I fully expected.

What I didn't expect was Matt's SA results... His volume was low, count was low, motility was low, morphology wasn't great, all those numbers were just on the marginal side, the only thing that was good was his vitality. They will be testing him again, the docs said sometimes this can be a one time thing depending on circumstances, including the fact that you're splooshing in a cup and that in itself is not really a turn on! So, once we know I've O'd for sure this month, he'll go in. Since we got his results back, I got him on a multi vitamin, vitamin C and maca root. I don't know if they will help, but I'm sure they can't hurt.

Just wondering how many of you have gotten your DH's to try and better their SA results naturally and had any luck?? We had one doc say that with my PCOS us conceiving naturally is impossible, but the other doc said me on Clomid with his results is possible so I'm not sure what our chances really are at this point, but we haven't given up yet!

welcome to the board, sorry to heare this. DH first and second results were pretty much the same, we have been referred for further treatment, going to put him on testosterone. But nothing is ever impossible, there is always a chance... remember it only takes that 1 sperm
hope you get your bfp soon good luck

Hello Tammy And Welcome to the board!! My name is Keri and I am the host of the board. DH and I have been TTC since last Jan. I was diagnosed in 06 with Endometriosis and DH was diagnosed last June with male infertility. He too has low everything. We have tried 2 IUIs last year with clomid assistance and no luck. We are trying on our own until May when we will then try our 3rd attempt at IUI. Our doctor did say it was going to be tough to get pregnant, but not impossible. I think those words keep me going. NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!!

I am so sorry to hear about all your struggles you have gone through thus far. We were told by our RE to not give up but work on diet habits. DH had just quit smoking when he had his last SA so we're hoping the next SA we will do (May) his results improve. He has also quit drinking the occasional beers. RE said that alcohol was the fastest at killing sperm. He has been on Zinc, with I heard is excellent for sperm count and morphology. And like you said, the pressure of 'making love to the cup' isn't the best for the guys and I'm sure doesn't produce the best spermies compared to the real deal. So, maybe with your DH taking more vitamins and you on Metformin- you will get positive results this next cycle. PLEASE keep us informed and DO NOT lose hope. Its soooooo easy to lose hope but you get no where without it. Come on here anytime you need someone to vent to, talk to, cry to or ask questions to. We're always here!!
