I have something fun for all us ladies to do~~Lets swap some recipes and report back when we make that recipe. For example, I post a recipe and someone on the board makes it- reports back and lets us know how it went! I think it would be fun!!

Here's one of my favorite family tradition foods:

We make this food every Christmas and New years-- Cut flour tortillas into triangles. Cook them in pan with oil. When crispy, take them out and sprinkle powder sugar on them and enjoy! Its super easy and SUPER delicious!!

Who doesn't love some spinach artichoke dip??

1 cup thawed, chopped frozen spinach
1 1/2 cups chopped artichoke hearts (from a jar)
6 ounces cream cheese
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/3 cup grated Parmesan
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Boil spinach and artichokes in 1 cup of water until tender and drain. Discard liquid. Heat cream cheese in microwave for 1 minute or until hot and soft. Stir in rest of ingredients and serve hot.

THis is Alton Brown's recipe and it's yummy! I use low fat ingredients, and it still tastes delicious

I hope there isn't a limit on how many recipes we can post This a favorite around here. Really easy, and yummy.

Turkey and Cranberry Ravioli

Filling:
1/4 pound ground turkey, preferably dark meat (I've used white meat, and it tastes great, just a bit dryer)
2 tablespoons cranberry sauce
2 tablespoons grated Romano
1 tablespoon bread crumbs
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley leaves
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
20 store-bought wonton wrappers (they're in the freezer section of almost every grocery store)

Gravy: Consider doubling the gravy recipe

3 tablespoons butter
1 shallot, chopped
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1/2 cup chicken broth
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 tablespoon chopped parsley leaves
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Filling: Stir together all the ingredients in the filling minus the wrappers. Place 10 wonton wrappers on a work surface. Brush lightly with water. Place 1 tablespoon of the turkey mixture on each of the wonton wrappers. Top with another wonton wrapper. Push out any air bubbles and press the edges tightly to seal; trim excess if desired

Gravy: heat the butter over medium heat. Add the shallots and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Add the flour and stir until cooked, about 1 minute. Slowly add the chicken broth, stirring quickly to avoid lumps. Add the cream, parley, salt, and pepper and cook, without boiling, for 2 minutes, stirring often.

Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the ravioli and cook until tender but still firm to the bite and the turkey is cooked, stirring occasionally, about 3 minutes. Drain the ravioli into the gravy and stir to coat. Add extra gravy if desired (yummo)

The only part of this that takes more than 5 minutes is pressing the wontons together. It sounds like a strange recipe, but it's a winner if you like turkey. Got this from Giada Delaurentis (sp?)

Keri I think I've made something similar to your fried tortillas, but we put cinnamon sugar on them instead of powdered sugar. Super yummy and I have tons of tortillas in the fridge along with the taco stuff so we are going to be having those for dinner tomorrow!! I looooove recipe shares, here's my recipe...

Portabello Mushroom Bruschetta

I made this recipe up so I don't have an exact recipe to copy from (I'm sure there is one at least similar out there somewhere), but here's what I did...

marinate 2-3 sliced portabello's overnight in balsamic vinegar, olive oil and minced garlic
(I'm not a huge fan of balsamic so I didn't add a whole lot, but you can mix the marinade to taste, I used more olive oil than balsamic, but you just need enough marinade to coat the mushrooms)

Broil in the oven under high broil until mushrooms are tender

Cool mushrooms and chop, mix with 3-4 chopped roma tomatoes, 1/2 onion (again you could add more if you really like onion), a handful of chopped basil, a Tablespoon of olive oil and about 2 tsp balsamic. Salt to taste. I bought premade toasts, but you could slice french bread and broil it until slightly browned. Put a spoonful of mix on each toast and enjoy!

I made them for a party and they were really yummy, even had some leftover mix and it lasted in the fridge for a few days before the balsamic got too strong for me. Sorry I don't have exact measurements I should try to measure next time I make them.

MMMM!!! Okay-- I'm going grocery shopping right now and I've added your recipies to my list!!
Tonight- DH and I are making Chicken Cordon Blue- its his favorite-- and its SUPER easy!!
There isn't really a recipe so I'm just going to explain how to make it -

-Chicken breast-- lay them out on counter and cover with wax paper. Beat chicken till its thin.

-Lay a peice of ham and swiss chese on top of flattened chicken breast

-Next, roll up the chicken and ham and swiss and put on baking sheet.

Cook at 425 until chicken is done.

When done, pour some holindase sauce or a cheese sauce over chicken and enjoy!!

We have asparagus as a side dish as well!
