Well we seen the dr today for our consultation and I guess I didn't get the answers I thought I was going to get I guess that's what I get for assuming.

Ok so here is what happen. My DH is FHS is a little low but he said it's ok and his testosterone (sp) is high but the Dr said if he gave something that would basically kill his little swimmers.. Ok so then he said with his sperm count being low 600,000 he could work around that issue with no problem. Ok so I'm thinking we are ok now I was wrong.. being I'm 43 yrs old he said there is a 10% or less change of sucess of me getting prego. He said he would have to do IVF and that wouldn't work with my eggs.

So then the dr talked to us about using my DH's sperm and using donor eggs either my sister's or a donor that we don't know. I called my sister and spoke to her about it but I told her we need to go talk more about it in private and not over the phone so I can tell her more stuff to see if she is willing to do it. She said she would think about it and talk to her husband about it. My sister is 5 yrs younger than me and has 2 kids already at first before I could tell her everything she was like no it won't work my tubes are tied.. I said I know silly and yes it will work I only want all of your eggs LOL ... she said oh ok. So she is going to think about it and let me know.

I'm not sure what to make of all of this I have lots of thinking to do and research to do also. Oh I did ask the dr what the chances of having twins being I see a lot of pictures of twins in his office.. He said with donor eggs about 5 out of 10 women have twins.

I'm really not sure what to make of this all it's going to take me some time.

If you have any experience with using Donor eggs let me know. Thanks

I'm so sorry you didn't get good news! I don't have any experience with donor eggs, but I hope you figure out what you're going to do. We used donor sperm, so I at least have experience in picking out a random stranger to biologically parent my child... so if it comes to that for you, then maybe my experience will help you?

Hey Wendy,

I do not have any experience with donor eggs either. So why are they saying that your eggs wont work? Just because of your age? Ad for DHs spermies, he does have a pretty low count but its not obsolete. So I wouldn't count you two having a baby together- out just yet.
I hope somone on here can help you out. I'm sorry about your news and I wish you continued luck.

Thanks Daisee and Keri..

Keri the Dr said I have less than 10% chance of getting prego with my eggs so we would have to spend money for that and if that doesn't work we could use a Donor and spend money for that.. So yes there is a chance but a very slim chance. So I'm thinking Donor is the best route to go I guess for now.

I don't have experience with donor eggs. My BFF was a donor, and another friend has twins from a donor egg cycle (they went through the donor program at the clniic they were at). ICSI will bypass DH low count (it's great that he has some to work with--that's what my clinic always tell me when we get a low count).

I am sorry you are going through this Wendy! I think your RE has a plan for you guys, and I look forward to seeing that BFP in the next few months.
