My U/S is scheduled for 1030am and I'm getting soo nervous!!! I am just soo terrified that baby wont be there on the screen...or that baby will be in the wrong spot and of course I'm hoping we'll see a heartbeat. So far, everything has been PERFECT though! I've have NO spotting, my BBs are still super sore, nausea is setting in and I pee alot so I know I shouldn't be worried but ya know...first pregnancy brings alot of anxiety's. Wish me luck please and lots of sticky dust!

Good luck sweetie!!! I completely understand being nervous & terrified, and even now I get anxious everytime I have a scan until I see or hear that heartbeat, or even when I don't feel Mark move in a while.

*UPDATE*
Okay...well--the appt went as well as it good be I guess!!

First...DH got into a fender bender (accident) on his way to the ultrasound so long story short-- He didn't make it to the appt!

As for the appt- they put the ultrasound gadget right on top of my belly and immediately saw a sac!!!.....but thats it....just a sac. They aren't seeing a baby in there yet but they kept saying over and over again that it is still super early. (I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow). But of course I was thinking in my head "How do some people see heartbeats at 5 weeks? And I can't even see a blob at 6 weeks?"

So anyways, after doing and internal ultrasound as well- doc came and talked to us. As he examined the photos he said he could clearly see the start of the placenta as well as a perfect fluid sack and he is 'almost' positive we don't see baby just cause its too early. He described the pregnancy as " dime sized " therefore, imagine how small the baby must be at this point if the sack is the size of a dime....therefore, its still pretty hard to see baby.

I don't know....I guess I should be jumping for joy, but I just thought more would be going on in there. I'm just soooo terrified to get my hopes high then get the crushed if this doesn't work out. My mom, sister and hubby keep saying "If there was something to be worried about, Doc would have said something" I'm not bleeding, not crampy, my boobs are super sore, I'm getting small pimples, peeing every 20 mins and getting nauseous....but I still feel bummed. I did ask if I could get my betas drawn again...and they did...I'll get those results on Monday. ALSO- I got back in 10 days for another scan. They said we should have a heartbeat by then cause I'll be 7.3 weeks. *sigh* what do you all think? AND THE TRUTH!!! Is it reallllly THAT early to see anything? Or do you think mabye this pregnancy isn't doing well? Or do you think baby is just super tiny right now?

I think I have heard that a lot of women don't see anything until closer to 7-8 weeks. I can't give you anything based on experience, but I would say that until you have something to worry about try to just enjoy every minute. I know that's hard to do when you have to work so hard to even get pg, but everything sounds wonderful and I have good feelings for your bean!

Keri, I think you're little bean is just fine. I asked my friend who is an OB, and she says that under 6 weeks, they want to see a sac and a yolk sac. The embryo is tiny at that point. She says that in a very early pregnancy, the anatomy of the uterus (retroflexed etc) determines how much is seen with the U/S wand.

I am sorry you didnt see your little bean right away, but I am sure he/she is setting up shop, and will be waving to mommy in that next scan. Please update with those betas.

Keri - my RE won't even do the u/s until after 7 weeks! My old RE did it at 6 wks, but my new RE refuses because he says it's often too early, and waiting until 7 wks makes it more likely we'll see something (and trust me, the wait is KILLING me since everyone is getting their u/s now!). So hang in there... I know it's hard, but it depends on so much... yes, some people see the heartbeat at almost 6 wks, but it depends on a) the type of ultrasound machine they're using, b) whether it's transvaginal or abdominal ultrasound, c) where in your uterus the baby is implanted, and d) the shape and tilt of your uterus. So while it's not too early for everyone, it could really just be too early for you. And I think if there was something to worry about, your doc would've said something, or at least have been less hopeful (they are usually pretty blunt and don't like to get our hopes up too much). So I think you're still in good shape!

That is very early. Did you get the beta results back yet? Like Daisee37 says, the docs are usually pretty blunt (at least they've been that way with me), so I"m sure the doc would have said something if things weren't looking good. Hang in there sweetie!! The wait will be worth it.
