I guess I should start at the beginning for those who don't know me. Chris (my DH) and I have had four miscarriages in a 3 year period. It was determined that I have two MTHFR mutations (making me compound heterozygous). I was immediately put on extra folic acid, B6, B12, and baby aspirin. Then we discovered that I don't always ovulate on my own. We then did three cycles of clomid. When my OB called in the third month's prescription he told me that it was the last time and I needed to see the local specialist.

That brings us to now. AF showed last week, so month 3 of Clomid did not work. DH and I decided that to speed things up we'd get him started on some basic testing before my appointment with the RE.

I am actually excited (and scared) for my RE appointment tomorrow. I don't think I've ever looked forward to an appointment so much. I want a plan. I want more to be done. I plan on asking for an HSG. I do believe I may have a blocked (left) tube as a result of an infection from a few years ago. I brought it up to the OB but he wasn't concerned. Any pain, any large cysts I've ever had have been on the left. When I had the infection, all pain associated with it was on the left. I hope Dr. Irianni will want to do one anyway, but I plan on asking for it regardless...even if it's just for piece of mind.

Now on to DH. His testosterone is low (359--they wanted 400+), his morphology is poor, and one other thing was on the lower end on normal. (I want to say mobility but am not certain and can't find the paper from the lab.) I have no clue what all this means or what's to come. His urologist never returned our calls. We had to go to the lab and PAY them to get the results.

I know this is long, so I'll end it here. If you got this far, thank you. I'd love to hear your stories and/or suggestions on what to expect/what can be done.

I am so sorry for your losses!

DH and I have severe MFI, and have conceived with IVF, and will be doing it again in 3 weeks. There are many success stories in the board about ladies who were able to conceive naturally, or using IUI. My first RE appt consisted of HSG, and if you have any concerns. I would think he'd offer it to you. I know what you mean about being excited about an appt. It made me feel a little less stressed about the whole thing, when we first met with an RE and actually had a plan laid out.

Good luck, and please KUP on the appt!

im so sorry about the miscarriages.

there are ways he can raise his testosterone naturally. one supplement is called Tribulus terrestris,
in raising the testosterone his sperm count will also improve. as well as sex drive.
for the low morphology get him to take antioxidants.
remember it takes 3 months for new sperm to be made though.
