I am new to writing on these boards, although I have read these boards countless of times - you all provide so much inspiration, hope and answers so thank you!

My husband and I have been ttc for almost 2 years now, with no luck due to my husbands disability. He has Spina Bifida which makes it hard for him to ejaculate (sorry for tmi), over the years we have tried medications that the Doctor thought would induce ejaculation - but unfortunately have had no luck (although he can produce pre-cum).

In the last year we have had help from a specialist urologist down in Conway, AR who has done numerous tests on my husband and agreed he more than likely suffers from retrograde ejaculation or just no ejaculation even though orgasm is always reachable.
My husband has had a testicular biopsy done and healthy living sperm was found, and a few months ago he had a special treatment done with a machine called 'Electroejaculation'.
This machine enabled my husband to ejaculate, although he has to be put under anesthesia. The machine was given as a trial run to our doctor to test it out on my husband to see if it would work, as the machine is not available in Arkansas otherwise and many patients who receive this treatment are sent out of state.
As the treatment was successful, however the sperm flushed through his pipes (so to speak) were old and dead our doctor said a few more tries with the machine and we would have healthy sperm suitable for an IUI.
Unfortunately due to Arkansas not having one of these machines we only were allowed the one off try to use it and our doctor is now trying to convince local hospitals to buy it, this is what leads me to these forums as a poster!

I am looking for couples in our situation to refer to our doctor who will put forward a case study to the local hospitals to convince them to buy it, so that those of us out there with this problem who do not have the money for IVF and the costs of medical procedures out of state can have another cheaper alternative.

So if you have a spinal cord injury, disability or other illness that has made it impossible for you to ejaculate or create retrograde ejaculation - please message me and I shall give you my e-mail address and provide any further details.

Our doctor believes he would only need two more couples in Arkansas who needs to use this machine to be able to justify the expense of the machine to the hospital...

Sorry to hear of your difficulties, i'm over in the UK so of no help to you. You could head over the the regional mommies section and see if there are any ladies nearer you who could help?

Do you have a local spinal injury society or support group that could perhaps help lobby on your behalf. Even if they don't want kids now, they may do in the future and may want to push having the machine in Akansas for them too?
